If he's telling you he's testing free agency and or isn't gonna sign with you, you have a obligation to the fans, players , to trade him and get pieces back. Having a superstar walk out the door and nothing to show for it is inexcusable. What you really are upset about is the return. If you're trading a superstar, you want at least 1 all star player in return in that package you get, Verdugo is good, but not a all-star, and Jeter Downs is still a question mark.
