Apart from my obvious love for Michael Sheen, what I (as a native German speaker) gather from this description of Wales and its people is that it reminds me a lot of the way Swiss German is compared to its non-swiss counterparts. Make of that what you'd like - I hope at least other German speakers will understand what I mean with this.
@ladyoftimeandspace5 жыл бұрын
JB Another native German speaker here, I feel like what they are describing sounds more like Austrian and German German and not Swiss German. Swiss German is nearly it’s own language and sometimes I don’t understand it at all when I am listening to people talking Swiss German. But Austrian German is nicely understandable but has it’s quirks and differences and sometimes they use words that I won’t use and sometimes don’t even know what they mean.
