@@DreamerVisionary Living only a few blocks from where they're from (Michael and Robert anyway) I was a fan from the very beginning. By the time they got around to recording "A.T.L." they had been around long enough to be seasoned pros, but weren't yet showing signs of aging... unlike me! lol

Scars N Stripes hi A.T.L. which one is that? please . Yep I remember seeing them in Orange County here in California mainly because I used to hang out with Tim G. when he was in Stormer , when Tim joined Stryper I went to check them out and I have always identified with their music then when Micheal went to go sing for Boston I loved and still love the music of Boston so very much that I was really hoping that Michael would keep going with them for awhile , thank you for your wonderful reply.

Sweet has always be fair in his assessment and praise of other musicians work. Never shying away from the mainstream audience. Can remember when Stryker was on MTV. Was a huge deal back then for a Christian artist especially a hard rock band to cross over into the mainstream. They got accused of a lot of crap but stayed faith to God and their calling.

Isn't it funny..Mike and Stryper were the laughing stock of the whole metal community back in the day. But guess who is still there still sounding amazing after all these years. Not Coverdale, Steven Pearcy, Bon Jovi, Paul Stanley, Vince Neil, even Sebastian Bach has become a caricature of his former glory. Very few singers or bands from the 80s can still perform at the top of their game anymore. So..who's laughing now?

Sweet is quite formidable now after working with Ted of Tourniquet on his solo release it was Michael Sweet's heaviest guitar playing as he was playing at Metallica's pacing and belting out lyrics that would almost be something Eric Wagner or Bruce Franklin could had written. His brother was toying with an underground heavy metal sub-genre that has origins in Chicago. Hearing Sweet covering Bon Jovi it gives it a unique direction. Stryper took on a style of heavy metal similar to European Power Metal with Fallen -- you almost wonder if the Stryper guys found the underground metal from the era when they were getting huge with To Hell With The Devil as they said they could never be as heavy as Metallica. There were two versions of 1980s heavy metal in 1986 -- there was the slick To Hell With The Devil then the controversial albums Reign of Blood and Master of Puppets which covered very dark subject matter. Metallica were the first thrash metal band to play epic tracks as the title track described cocaine addiction in a frightening way. They were playing heavy metal that scared people and was dangerous to the mainstream. MTV shit their pants when they introduced One. Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth all had disturbing lyrics as Anthrax early on was downright funny. Indians by Anthrax is a classic thrash metal track as thrash was getting noticed very quickly by the end of the 1990s -- Christian Thrash was starting to become more mature when Believer and Tourniquet entered the arena. Both were writing challenging tracks as Believer showed a style of heavy metal that foreshadowed the European style known as Symphonic Metal. Stryper should team up with Tarja and write a few tracks that can top Fallen (that album is brave for the Stryper crew as they did a song that introduced me to the Ozzy era Black Sabbath. I heard Biohazard's version as a teenager. Dehumanizer was my first Sabbath album as Anthrax introduced Sabbath Bloody Sabbath in 1987.)
