Sadly, after I watched this many of the jazz titles you mentioned are back ordered. Hopefully, they come back in stock. One album not on your list but which you included on your top 20 Jazz list last year is Bill Evans at Montreaux. That’s a fantastic sounding record.

Thank you for taking the time to shoot this video, I found it very interesting, certainly you have a very wide musical taste. Forgive me for commenting on a previous video, namely the half speed masters subject. I have only two records in this series from Abbey Road and honestly I find them to be no improvement on the original. I can’t help thinking that it is a marketing ploy rather than an honest attempt to provide better sounding records. Cynical exportation in my opinion.
@thevinyltruffle3 жыл бұрын
With Analogue Productions, stuff will go out of print for a few years and then come back right? It seems that way with most of their titles. Also, on the Tone Poet Series, they are supposed to be “unlimited” persay, correct? Like they will be in print for years and years? I have so many titles to get right now, I need to make some tough decisions. Trying to save myself money in the long run.
@Michael45RPM3 жыл бұрын
The safest way to safe money is to buy them when they come out. I would not be too sure that they always come back. for the Tone Poets you are right they said that they will be available for quite some time; but i am starting to get unsafe that they keep up their word over at Blue Note ....

I've got originals of most of those--at least the ones I'm interested in. It's great that Chad does such a great service in reissuing a lot of classic LPs, but I can't rationalize buying them again just so i can compare and OG to one of his records. I've done it on occasion (Like with Miles Relaxin") and I still like playing the OG, even if it's got a few pops and ticks. I will say that around $40 a pop, they are a good value--better that the Mofis, IMHO. (I'm a graphic designer and I've always hated how MoFi has to ad their little strip across the top of so many classic LP covers.)

As a young individual, I couldn’t agree more ! I have been thinking about that for a while, and I am far from being an expert so stop me if I’m not correct, but I reckon this is also to be blamed on artists themselves for discarding the analogue storing of their music over the mighty digital stuff. AAA labels are sought after for the first A as much as the two others, therefore it would be somewhat counterproductive for them to part ways with this first A ... Again, this is only my understanding as a rookie into the world of AAA.

@@loulax385 There are exceptions. The new release by Fontaine's D.C. was offered in a 2-LPs-at-45-RPM version and the new Idles album was offered in a mastered-in-mono version. Neither are full-stop audiophile... but somebody cared to some degree.
