I was super lucky to be in this class! Michael Angelo Batio is a wonderful teacher and performer. He spent so much time with us answering all our questions and I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to meet him, and to play a quick bit for his analysis. Super cool to see our hands are basically the same size too! A great experience I will not forget. Thanks MAB YOU DO ROCK!

MAB is an incredible teacher. I love putting these videos on and just listening. You don't even have to be a guitar player to enjoy this, he speaks with such calm knowledge in such a soothing and sincere manner and attentively listens to his students concerns. Anyone is able to learn from this man and enjoy his passion for the instrument and for teaching others. There's a saying that the winners out there are always the ones who are more than happy to share what they know and genuinely want to see others succeed. That's MAB. He deserves to go down in the Heavy Metal hall of fame and be remembered forever. Good men are getting rare in this world and are underappreciated compared to the rude and the bad. Thanks again MAB. Respect to you! God bless!

I doubt he'd want to regard himself as a god of any kind, I'd say more so a coachable person eager to learn, who has a passion he'd like to continue to share with the world once he's no longer with us. I know without a doubt Michael's influence and presence will echo throughout eternity (so, god status achieved I guess lol)

I might not be learning a whole lot that is new. I do pick up on little things here and there that I never considered. One thing that I like the most is the discussion that everyone at the clinic engages in. It sounds like a truly fun time. All of these lessons are packed full of really useful technique that took me years to figure out. I would have learned things much faster if I had this early on. I did take lessons too. My teacher was awesome. I just wish I had someone that could take me to the next level after that first round of lessons.

If you're a blues player, it is good to have your thumb over the neck to get that cool vibrato. But, if you want to shred, especially using the ring finger and the pinky, then you want to play with the thumb behind the neck. Great lesson, Michael.

So, when I am listening to different music I feel it as you described. The problem for me is that I do not know how to tap into those emotions when I am jamming out and writing my own stuff. To me it just sounds like I am playing scales and intervals with vibrato and harmonics. How to change? I am at the age, where I can't enjoy the music of my youth in the same way, and the stuff I listen to now is very neoclassical virtuoso. I can't play it.
