How this game didn’t initially get a Sega Saturn release is baffling!

I know, really! A 32X, or even a Sega CD (albeit to a much lesser extent) could have maybe done the game properly for that matter too. Why Sega never gave us a home port of Revenge Of Death Adder, but instead ported the mediocre fighting game in Golden Axe: The Duel, I'll never know either! That and Golden Axe III, which while I thought was okay, didn't even get an official stateside release for that matter also!

Was finally able to pick this one up at Best Buy, on sale. Will have to move a couple of cabs to another room that has no cabs in it, yet to make space for this one. LOL Enjoyed the review. Thanks for sharing this. :)

I completely agree Jason. It's really a piece to take in plus i have this column sticking out that the 4 player control panel kind of wraps around so this works ; ). Big fan of this cab and thanks for checking out the video

Can you swap the contole deck? Mount a longer one on the cabinet? And can we add games? I love everyone of these games that are on it especially altered beast. I am generation X I’ve had to be drug out of the arcade room in our little hicktown bowling alley I don’t know how many time as a kid.

So when your arcade room fills up, how do you decide which machine to remove? and how do you store it?

Well I'm constantly trying to figure out how to make more room tbh. They have new legacy cabs coming out now that have all the games of the and sell the other 2 to make room SF and Final Fight cabs so I could buy that one....crazy I know. I have also thought about just keeping some in storage and changing them out from time to time

That's kind of the main problem with these cabinets, along with the cost adding up, as you get more. It's only a matter of time until you have no more space, and have to be very creative in order to fit more, if any others come along which you feel must absolutely have for that matter too.

I wanted this cabinet more than anything, then they released it mid Covid outbreak after I was laid off and jacked the price up to $500. I own five other cabinets and this one would complete my collection. I’m very upset that this was such a short run that it’s not even obtainable anymore now that I have the money to do so after getting a new higher paying job. Will this cabinet get a re-release?

Pretty cool cabinet man. And thanks for the major detail and showing the games on it, as well as explaining them in much detail. I have a custom 4 player Space Invaders Arcade1up I modded running a Dell PC with Launchbox and Big Box. And all these games will be running on it and 1000s more. lol But of course I need to finish my wife's modded 2 player Frogger cabinet first.

Altered Beast was a pretty okay game for it's time. That along with it being the very first console game where you truly felt like you were playing an actual arcade machine in the comfort of your own home, even if it still wasn't quite a perfect port though. Problem was that it was a short game, with little depth to it, and didn't age too well as a result either.

Now if only this was available! Arcade1up ended up treating this as even more rare than their official “limited edition” cabinets by ending production to the US. Really bummed they chose to do this to those wanting and waiting to buy it.

What an amazing cab. This was the one that I really wanted as my first A1Up cab but just couldn’t justify the $650cad price tag. I ended up getting a SF cab for $370 and modding it. Wish A1Up would treat their Canadian customers fairly.

Great review as usual. This cab is awesome . Looks great and the 4 player makes it pop. I love the games and Shinobi is what sold it for me because I loved playing that game at my local convenient store. I now have three 4 player cabs and only have room for Simpson’s if it gets released soon.

I grew up with three of these games on console so really have no nostalgic pull to play them a different way. It’s a nice looking cab however TMNT is the four player I have, and is super popular in our house. I’m liking the xmen cab but I think we’re only gonna do 1 four player cab. Great review as always!

QUESTION! I also played the original golden axe at home when i was younger SO the problem im having is the game ends when i save the prince & princess. Is that normal? Im very let down that it's not the full game 😥

You should turn off the some lights in your room to prevent glare during gameplay. You can turn on everything for the review shots.

I agree that Wrestle War might be a sleeper hit. I have always been more of a fan of Exciting Hour/Mat Mania, but my local Malibu Grand Prix had Wrestle War back in the day and I did play it from time to time.

What i think? Nice Cab! But since Golden Axe 1, Shinobi, Altered Beast are included...there will be no separate Cabinet for them! Which is a shame. My first Cabinets i have seen are Shinobi, Altered Beast and Golden Axe (also Wonderboy). Thats a shame!

I'm so bummed. My Golden Axe 2 game freezes at random intervals. Working with Arcade 1up customer service to see what can be done. Too bad, because this cabinet is just gorgeous.

Wrestle War's inclusion over other titles that would better fit the overall side scrolling theme of the cab (and its visual aspect ratio) still baffles me, but it's an otherwise stellar collection of Sega fighting titles. I'd have gone with Alien Storm or Shadow Dancer over the wrestling title

I really wanted to buy this game being a big fan of golden axe. But like most people who buys these things hard decisions have to be made due to space. And unfortunately I don't think I'll have room for it. Especially since I'm pre ordering x-men the second it comes out. And same with Simpsons when it finally gets made. And unfortunately I won't be buying Killer instinct for the same reason even though that game looks bad ass. Unless of course I can convince the wife to buy a new house with a bigger game room so I can buy more arcade games. But I probably have a better chance at hitting the lottery haha.

If that wasn't the generic Arcade1Up cabinet it would look awsome. I am not a fan of the way their standard cabinets look. Hey, you agree. Well, at least you agree with the part about wishing it copied the shape of the original. I'd like to see the art from the front of the riser copied to the sides. I don't think I have ever played Wrestle War. I'll have to pull it up on the MAME cabinet. This one would be tempting if it used the original cabinet design, or if they would change their awful standard cabinet design to something more akin to a cabinet you would likely have seen in the 80's or 90's.

Nice review. However, for the price of this, it should not suffer from the I want to look just like the other syndrome. They really should have given this a more unique cabinet shape like Star Wars or BurgerTime. Games are great, colors are nice but originality is just not there.
