i bought a similar one fom someone who sells 'fixed' ones, , he deleted the pc software and switch crap, and replaced the emulators with fixed latest ones, launchbox was free one; and I bought the lifetime version. But yeah its a bit sketchy that nobody mentioned this.

Another great video! It's so shocking that no other reviewers are picking up on all this stuff, especially emulators being so out of date! I'm currently waiting until Black Friday to see if Launchbox gets reduced (if not, I'll just buy it anyway), and get the licence dragged across. Will be super interested to see if you manage to successfully update all your emulators/Launchbox and get this drive working as it should have been out the box. I have to say, I was disappointed by the PS2 games selection. No God of Wars, no Grand Turismos - perhaps he just forgot to copy over the 'G' section of games now I think about it! Would have much rather it didn't ship with the PC games at all and had more PS2/360/PS3 games instead.

Is it any good if for example you set up launch box individually by yourself and used the hard drive just for the games? I'm not interested in pirated games for current systems so I'll be wiping those off, the other stuff it will probably save me time. I'd really appreciate an answer. Thank you.

@@nickoldschoolrules52 so I have done what you said I made a video showing that you can actually move over an official license onto this drive and then use it as your own. @nickoldschoolrules52 If you don't want to buy launchbox you can use Retrobat which is also on the drive. It has all the same systems as launchbox

Also, when you say you have this backed up, did you just buy a black 12TB drive and clone a copy to that? Thanks again for the coverage on this drive! Deserves to be seen by all the people who have no doubt bought this drive.

@@ThePhoenixTail I had two spare 10tb drives and put them together and cloned the original hyperspin drive. I only copied launchbox and retrobat from the new drive because the rest didn't interest me

I brought the GMKtec M5 plus, i haven't yet started it up yet as I'm a noob,comes with Windows 11 pro,32gb and 1tb,i want to only just use it as an emulation system but am not sure how to download games yet am i also better of buying a SSD card for it first for that reason instead of using Windows 11 pro and adding a gamestore onto it?any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks,was looking to buy a plug and play also but you answered all my questions about getting one,so i will have to build my own.

@@dannypeters8126 You could buy one of these drives and copy the stuff you want to off of it. This is what I have done. I started my own emulator drive and copied over most of the systems I wanted to play. If at any point I had to fix something I was not worried about breaking it because I have an original copy

If I buy one from King Hank .do I need to have my PC connected to the Internet .?? If I dont update nothing ever .can I still play all the games normally ..I'm kind of lost

You should be good to play 90-plus percent of the games. It's the modern titles that will be an issue like the PS3 and 360 because those emulators need to be updated to have a better experience All the retro stuff should be just fine for you.

You are right....all of these emulators should've been updated...no need for emulators to be 2 years out of date. I wish it was easy to add games to Retrobat so I just add all my new stuff to Launchbox. And you're right about to Super Famicon. I'm currently fixing and getting rid of all the unnecessary games in that section. Thank you for showing me how to change/add logos to the wheel....now I have my PSN and XBLA collections with logos now.

@@Kirana_Starr I have made a video updating one or two emulators but not launchbox. I will be making a video on that pretty soon. It can be down but you will need an official license in order to keep Bigbox

@Kirana_Starr I haven't done it myself so I will be trying it for the first time like you have. I have a backup of launchbox so I can try it over and over. As far as I know you take the core folder and the XML file and put it into the launchbox folder than hit update. Try that and let me know

They didint update the emulators beacuse they dont know how this is just a stolen build they piled a old hyperspin build into the new hyperspin attraction build and if they try to update the emulators it breaks beacuse they dont know to update them trough rocketlauncher they just drageed and dropped stuff into a old build

@@chucklesoakley This could be due to mutilple factors. Your pc specs being one of them. Maybe it's the emulator is being out of there I've also had the experience when I first bought a can I drive where one section completely did not work but when I got a replacement drive it worked.
