Good to see you again, Mr. Nose. I loved this review. it was actually one of the PS2 games that I considered underrated, but nevertheless it is funny. I also loved Simpsons Hit and Run for the PS2, which is one of my favourite PS2 game adaptations of a series and the X-files : Resist or Serve, which kinda ressembles Silent Hill 2, which you mentioned in a few videos.

Thank you. :D Me too actually. Mediocre as it might be, it was always a personal favourite growing up as I love Futurama. I do think the show deserves something better though, something more exploratory. 🤔 I love Hit & Run. It's been requested and I'm tempted to cover it soon. It's just such a major and popular game, I'd wanna do it justice. I've never played the X Files game but I really like Silent Hill 2. Have to be in the right mood though as it can be depressing as hell. 😂

9:38 I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed that Audio error! That's what happens when you're super mega huge fans of Futurama like me and I don't have a nose. Futurama is my 2nd favorite TV show of all-time behind Beavis and Butt-head. I'm sad that Futurama has been cancelled 3 times while the Simpsons gets to rehash the same old shit for their episodes again and again to this day. " Simpsons Writer: hey remember when Homer worked at the Kwik E Mart? Let's make Marge work their next, that's a totally different episode! Or how about let's close Moes for the millionth time!" I don't understand why the Simpsons is still on when it's clear they've gone way downhill and have run out of ideas. That's why they're reduced to rehashing old ideas with different characters!!! #CancelTheSimpsons

It funny how all the cutscenes from this game were edited together and made into a full on episode and put on the Beast with a Billion Backs DVD, which is probably the only good thing on that DVD

I like the first 2 episodes of it. It feels like classic Futurama. And then the plot goes off the rails for me. It turns into a D&D/Lord of the Rings parody full of toilet humour for no good reason. But the worst episode imo is the Futurama Holiday Spectacular. I never rewatch that.

Futurama is my #1 TV show, hands down. This game... Eeeehhhhhhh, I can take it or leave it, but boy howdy I found this bloody hard as a kid. Got it again and plan to beat it one day. Also the hammer gag still makes me laugh. 😂 Have to say, I was impressed when I got to explore Planet Express. It sort of kindled this love of getting exploring familiar places in games, giving them a concrete geography. *Jackie Chan Adventures* did the same. Worth a look, if you're up for the hunt. 😁

Likewise, Futurama is my favourite show! I don't mind the game, but they really didn't take advantage of the futuristic setting or indeed the characters. That's also exactly how I feel about Planet Express. I love when you can explore areas from TV shows and movies in a game, it makes it really 'come alive'. I get a similar vibe from Simpsons Hit and Run, walking around Springfield, and The Simpsons Game, exploring the Simpsons' house. The Fry levels at the beginning are fairly difficult. I think once you get past those, it picks up speed.

@@idonthaveanose I occasionally like to think up pitches for license games and how they'd play, and tbh Futurama has crossed my mind. It works as a 3rd person shooter (Starfox-esque flight sections might work), but like you say - they didn't take full advantage of the setting. Hell, I would have had the team delivering packages being the main thrust of the gameplay, while Mom is sort of an overarching thing. Kind of like the Blarg in R&C1's plot. Actually, I just watched the Hit & Run review (nice work, didn't know about the camera change in the bonus races) and I noticed what you said about poor-handling vehicles in some missions. I played the game again recently and I found that there's sort of an illusory difficulty curve made by giving you unfair time limits and more unwieldy vehicles. There's a way to get around that: select the vehicle needed to activate the mission, then just run to the nearest phone booth to pick your vehicle of choice.

That's exactly what I had in mind for Futurama! Travel the universe delivering packages and completing miscellaneous tasks, while the main plot unfolds in the background. What we got was pretty basic but hey, at least we got *a* game. Ah thank you!! I wanted to talk about more stuff, like changing the camera in-game, the extra cheats, even the legacy of the game and its mods by fans in recent times, but the video was just far too long. Hmm, does that actually work? 😮 I was convinced you weren't able to change vehicles as it times you when you leave the vehicle during the mission.

@@idonthaveanose In fairness, license games don't get that much time to be developed. Especially since the series had ended around that time. Probably would've had more breathing room if it hadn't been cancelled. Ah, cheats. Horn jumping is one of my favourites, no top speed is scary and exploding cars is just "I'm feeling lazy mode". Yeah, my brother discovered it years ago with the Plow King mission. Applies to every other 'required vehicle' mission.

That's true - that said, despite its cancellation (again), I'd say many people would welcome a new Futurama game with more scope. It remains a popular series in spite of being off the air for 6 years now. I used to like the extra camera modes too. You know, that's one of those things I feel I should have discovered a long time ago... If this is the case, why did I never try this?! :|

The best way to see this game is as a playable episode of the show. Just don't expect something like an open world Futurama game. I'd still recommend it if you like the series. 🙂

I love Futurama, but I was a bit too late, as I started watching it a couple of years ago, let alone I live in Greece so merch is just in my imagination (except for a small Besie I found at a store by pure chance) This game caught my attention and I wanted to add it to my collection. But every review I found was so disappointing. Your review seemed more accurate and got my hopes up tbh.

I'd say it's good for at least one playthrough. I do wish they'd have done more of an exploratory game, where you can walk around New New York and visit other planets, but what we got isn't as bad as some people say it is. At worst, it's mediocre. I'd give it a try. 🙂
