I loved this game when I was a kid! Red Riding Hood was my favorite character and I loved that they stuck to her appearance in the movies in this game, as she appeared in both Shrek 2 and 3. My favorite line of dialogue from Red was “Yes! Grandmother will be so proud! She was betting on this race”. I disliked Goldilocks due to her voice tbh, but I can still see her relevance as the three bears did spear in Shrek 1 (RIP Mama Bear) but I would have honestly preferred Luna the witch from Super Slam take her racing slot because who doesn’t want to fly on a broom and her weapon could have been her frog plus the constant cackling would have made a bit more sense lol. This was an fantastic review thank you for covering this gem from my childhood!

I feel very sorry for Shrek. Probably because, ever since that Shrek Is Love, Shrek is Life came out in 2013. The character has been turned into a joke. 😀

This game is one of the better licensed based racing games I've played, but considering the ones I've played, that's not exactly a spectacular thing. I'm surprised that I didn't make so many connections to the Shrek 2 game. That honestly adds a lot more to the environments. Also, I can imagine editing the many repeated voice lines got annoying at some point. lol.

Haha! Yeah, it got annoying but it was easy due to how often they repeated stuff. 😂 Also Humpty Dumpty has such a weird voice! It's definitely not one of the worst racing games though.

Another fantastic review! I had this on the DS and i remember it fondly, i don't remember it being as annoying with the sound effects on the DS version but it was probably made by another studio so that would explain it

I liked the review! Detailed as usual, my favorite type. I never played this game , but I did heard of him , it might not be a great game but I love racing games likes this one even if they are bad lol and and glad you cover more racing games

I remember buying my first psp and had a memory card with a bunch of games on it and this game happens to be one of them I tried to beat it but oh boy the amount of chaos I had to go through during races were just chaotic first off the soundtrack is amazing because each one gives you a vibe to the track you're racing in, the story is just nonexistent apart from the intro and I understand the racers have unique creatures or vehicles that they use but they almost never shut up because they keep saying the same taunting voice line also I know the big bad wolf in the movie stands on two legs but in game it's abit weird like imagine running on all four legs with granny clothes on and a teenage girl on your back it just feels weird, the tracks are confusing at first mainly because they don't point out exactly where you need to go so most of the time I always either fall, get stuck or fly off and just hope that I don't land out of bounds, the a.i in the psp version is relentless they hit and abuse the barrel power ups more often so to the point where you just have to restart the race but i like how the characters have their own way of racing. The game could be fun at times when it wants to but when it doesn't it feels chaotic.

This was the last Shrek game on the GameCube and it was made right before the third movie came out. I wish the third movie game was on GameCube even though it would obviously be the same as the PS2 and Wii versions

I really do hate repeating dialogue. I don't care how much work it is, they should have so many dialogue lines that you don't hear them repeat too often.

Its really a funny, uncanny coincidence that Puss in Boots 2 not only features Goldilocks riding a bear but also Puss getting killed by a bull. I know for a fact the writers definitely didnt play those game so either theres a Shrek lore advisor or it’s random parallel thinking lol

@@idonthaveanose yeah fair enough and good point, I just had a suggestion for a really, really good movie tie in game that still holds up fantastically today, and it's still fairly popular, I constantly see videos of it in my recommendations anyways the recommendation is Spiderman 2 on the PS2, I would go as far to say it's just as good or better in some regards to Marvels Spiderman on the Ps4, also the Ps2 one gives you pizza delivery missions so you can live you dreams of pretending to be Tobey Maguire from Spiderman 2.

awesome review mike :D my mate had this game back in primary school. It was roughly around the time he also had shrek super slam which was rated 12 and we were only around 7 to 8 years old. He was allowed it but I wasn’t ☺️ oh how I hated the 12 plus logo as a nipper. I was like but it’s just shrek?! Was the same with shadow the hedgehog and jak and daxter XD I honestly though being twelve was gonna be like a mature adult

I've never seen or heard of this game, but it looks pretty mediocre. It's not terrible, but it's not great. You should definitely play and cover my all-time favorite Shrek game. Shrek is super slam.
