[Desert Canyon - Kaleb Maraquin] These were dangerous lands. Hellish and unforgiving were words often associated with this canyon and for good reason. Within its steep walls it housed many a danger for an unaware or brave traveler. These threats were undoubtedly on Kharja's mind as he trekked through this wretched place. Not that there was much else to think about. The buffeting winds and incessant bugs deprived Kharja of peace. But tranquility wasn't what he desired. He had his eyes set on a cliff not far from here. If he hurried his journey may not be for naught. Increasing his pace he steeled himself for the challenges yet to come. The sand was enough to drive any man mad but with the insects, and wildlife he had to be constantly vigilant. With what seemed a trained step he avoided any poisonous animals. He could dispatch a predator if need be but his mind was on the danger that loomed over every place. That of men. Finally reaching the edge of the cliff he took several deep breaths and stretched. This was going to be challenging. Tying his bow tightly to the bag he had donned earlier his ascent began. The perilous cliff was formidable but no match for his skilled hands and seasoned body. However he didn't anticipate the noises behind him. Voices! Cursing he increased his pace disregarding safety. He seemed to scurry up the cliff face in record time, once at the top Kharja tempered his breath, his lungs desperate for reprieve. Working quickly he shoved a stake in the dirt with a long trailing rope for and easy descent. With practice hands he drew his bow and observed the targets. Two heavily armed merchants ready for anything. Well... Almost anything. With the speed and precision of a trained killer he loosed four arrows in seconds each finding their mark with a distinct thud. Quick, clean, and painless. Breathing a sigh of relief behind his cowl he observed the large chest that lie between the two dead men. Assuredly filled with valuables. He began his descent and reflected on his actions. These were dangerous lands. 📌 This ambience was extremely hard to create. Probably one of the hardest actually. The whole ambience was done with only 3 different sounds. One for all the animals+wind and two for the small stones rolling. I had to work for ~3h on the 'canyon' sound to make it usable. It was mainly some restoration work, and hundreds of copy/paste to get rid of recording mistakes. Then I had to work on equalization to give the impression the wind is changing. In the original recording, the wind doesn't change AT ALL for the whole duration. A pain. You can expect many more ambient creations like this one! You need a special ambience for your RPG sessions ? Just ask, and I create it !

Here's the commenter with the pet birds again. This one is another great example of how well you manage to balance wildlife and bird noises - my birds had a great time listing to this one. I just wish there were more youtubers that know how to use bird noises realistically and in moderation. #🐦#

@@rachdarastrix5251 it never ceases to amaze me how you feel the need to eat every beast and monster we come across. Anyways I belive this this area is home to Land Sharks or Bulletes as they are more commonly known. They burrow underground and spring up to catch they're prey in violent display of fury and hunger...you know now that I think about it you and them have a lot in common

Thank you for this amazing piece. It fits to a certain part of my current campaign perfectly (Ancient Desert Ruins that harbour the avatar of an old one). It sounds like some sort of bird, maybe? Possibly a scavenger of some sort. There are flies buzzing around, so maybe they're alerting each other that they've found something dead to make a meal of.
