Scratchboard Illustration of a Coat of Arms for a Wine Label

Time-lapse video showing the process of rendering by hand a family crest in scratchboard to be used on a wine label.
A more accurate description of my style might be "Pen and Ink on Scratchboard." I work on white scratchboard and draw with pen and ink everything that will be 50 percent gray or lighter. Things that are darker than 50 percent gray, I block in with solid black ink and scratch in white details with a scratchboard knife.

Hi Michael! Your works is amazing. Please make video how do you prepare a surface for application of the ink. This technique is very interesting but little information on how to prepare the surface for painting. Make video for the materials and the process of preparation and separately on the tools you use if it's not a secret. I think many will be very helpful.
