It's weird that engines are the only thing Factorio Guy can't craft that doesn't involve furnaces (which are too hot) or liquids (which he can't hold).
@MichaelHendriks4 ай бұрын
Funnily enough he CAN hand craft the iron gears and pipes for the engines (which are usually machined), but he CANNOT assemble those parts into an engine, something which often IS done by humans
@monad_tcp4 ай бұрын
@@MichaelHendriks in my lore the factorio guy doesn't know about the otto cycle, which is why he can't craft engines. I also find it funny that electric engines required lubrication, but petrol engines don't, maybe that's why, engines are so precisely machined that they don't need lubricant, the gears and pipes are consumed as raw matter by the assembler and the gears are for the assembler itself, not for the engine

Bro idk how you haven’t hit 1 mil yet, beyond me. Warptorio is shaping up to be your best series yet, and I love the livestreams too. I can’t wait to see where this continues, what you do after, and I’m so proud to be a patron. Most underrated GOAT. Keep at it! P.s. when are we getting more science galore 👉👈
@MichaelHendriks4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words berry, I guess factorio is too niche to easily grow that fast, but patreon supporters like you make it all worth it regardless of youtube views and algorithms. As for science galore, I'm unsure, if I end up doing the editing myself probably after warptorio finishes

13:00 Technically yes. Such modifications to a running nuclear power-plant are within regulations. With the exception of environmental regulations, which clearly are not applicable. The rules are: - do not put others in danger. - do not order others to put themselves in danger (followed by 30+ lawbooks on what is considered "danger") There are no others, there are no orders. Unless we consider the construction-bots people (maybe out of scope for this series) you're within regulation.

Also leaving smaller biter nests close to the center makes it easier to quickly take them all down at once and setting up a defensive perimeter foothold. Once you have enough space to pull out some ultimate deathworld tricks, all will be fine. (we hope). Looking forwards to the next episode! (which may or may not come out four times sooner, because we all know time in the real world directly corresponds to time in the factorio world).

Just curious would deploying laser turrets at the mining platforms be a better alternative? Or the power demand was simply too high? I assumed that behemoth biters are more vulnerable to laser than any type of ammo.
@3laserbeam34 ай бұрын
The answer: It doesn't matter if you're going to eliminate all the biters in a few hours anyway. At this stage you can afford to replace anything with construction bots if it turns out the ammo math was wrong. The actual defense will always be spidertron offense on a continent map.
@tekbox79094 ай бұрын
I think Power draw is to big an issue. Storing excess power for power spikes takes a lot of space. Way more space than just the ammo for the turrets. And that's not even thinking about if your power production will be enough to support the new average with the power spikes.
@snowdrop98104 ай бұрын
@@tekbox7909 warptorio has builtin storgage to the tune of multiple gigajoules. You have like, 5 thousand accumulator's worth of storage for "free".
@snowdrop98104 ай бұрын
The answer is yes, but also it takes a lot of time to do so. "If it aint broke dont fix it" applies here. Also, lategame technically smmo is way, WAY stronger than lasers because of just how gun turrets work. With even a small number of repeatable damage techs, uranium ammo can hit ~200dmg per shot on gun turrets, due to the double dipping AND they shoot like 3x faster. It has 7 less range though.

Does biter evolution on the homeworld calculate itself based on how you left it (state at time of warp out plus time elapsed plus remaining pollution absorbtion) or based on the evolution of the final warp zone? (thus meaning taking a short dip with pollution suppressed on an extra warp zone would make the homeworld much safer - not that it could be done on this run). Just curious
@MichaelHendriks4 ай бұрын
Biter evolution resets to 0 also when warp to homeworld. A bit anticlimactic so I changed it, I intended to put a textover with that info on the relevant voice line but i forgot

think we can see a more basic lets play? may 3-5 episodes and the goal is you need to automate everything with bots and not belts? you can use belts but you need to beeline for bots and use them right away. and after you get bots you cant hand craft anymore...it would be cool to see the base of bots...we can call it the HIVE!
