I loved my He-man in the early eighty's. Was my first real collection. And the cartoon was really good too. Those were the best days of my life. Magical. Wish I could go back. And do it all again. The world has changed so much since then. And not for the better either. I kinda feel sorry for kids today. They really don't have anything. Glad to be an eighty's kid!

I was reflecting recently on why He-Man was and is still an important part of my life. My collection restarted 3 years ago, when my Mom found a Castle Greyskull to give me for Christmas......again. :D I am now only missing two vehicles, two erm.....figures (Twistoid and his twin), the comet.....things, and all but the outer two towers of Eternia. A lot of Christmas mornings are fading with time. But I remember the morning I opened Castle Greyskull in 1983. I will never forget it. I had it until 1995, when sadly I had to leave it to move to Oklahoma. Mom found it here in town in 2016, and I got it for Christmas one more time. And my collection began again with it.

Great video!!! Extremely polished presentation!!! I saw the original TV run of the classic series and even though I never owned any of the toys (I was a Star Wars guy), I watched every episode and even the girly She-Ra series. I remember seeing the toys in a Christmas catalog prior to the cartoon being released and being fascinated by the split Power Sword forming the nexus of the struggle between He-Man and Skeletor.

I am so proud that my 6and 3 year olds both enjoy watching the old cartoon with me, running around yelling I HAVE THE POWER!!! every episode was a moral that I've tried to carry in my heart my whole life and to see my kids listening and not just watching them makes my heart swell! I may love the villains of 80s cartoons and movies, but it was heroes like He man and optimus prime that made me the honest and decent man i am today for my children and the future's sake! I may not have the biggest MOTU toy collection like you, but I got a lot of good memories from the cartoon. First of all, you are right about one thing, Lou Scheimer was great man, giving us such awesome cartons like He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. He is the true face of Children's TV unlike the ones we see from Litton Entertainment. And I don't care what some people say about the cartoon itself, through the life lessons at the end of every episode, we learn to be better people down the long haul, far more better than those "Edutainment" shows we see today. Well done on the video, especially reminding me how awesome and well-informed the cartoon was and always will be. Keep up the good work. ;)

@@MichaelMercy Quite true. I say the same for the other cartoons I grew up watching in the 80s and 90s like G.I. Joe, Centurions, She-Ra, Filmation's Ghostbusters, Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and, yes, even Sailor Moon. Their PSA/life lesson/science fact segments on their shows way better than those of Litton Entertainment and that's a fact.

Amazing video as always brother! Even though I didn't collect these figures as a child, I enjoyed the cartoon very much. Even back then I knew they were full of heart, and valuable moral lessons. He-Man might have had a bigger affect on me than I realize. Many of the lessons that were taught I still live by today. Thanks to other cartoons I learned not to take a bath with a toaster and not to leave a rake lying in the yard, but He-Man taught me to have self-worth and to be kind to others. Put others before yourself, and to do it unselfishly. Life lessons that I still practice every day. Thank you for the great work you do Michael. You definitely are a beacon of humanity. Keep up the amazing things you are doing, and keep being that shining light in an otherwise dark world. I hope your weekend is amazing. Nerdmasté brother.

Great video! Makes a person realize how lucky they were--me and my brother--to grow up during what now seems like a golden age of toys. My brother was into Star Wars, He-Man, and Transformers. TV shows were sometimes seen as mere commercials but they were really much more than this. The idea of re-paints and re-use never bothered me either. That was one of the ways that carmaker AMC used to survive back in the 70s. The He-Man cartoon certainly was great and seeing that on TV during the same period as Transformers was awesome to say the least.

Man-E-Faces... oh man. I was already a MoTU nut right when they released... but I was especially crazy for the Man-E-Faces character from the commercial. I was waiting for my BDay to get him and my family psyched me out and didn't give him right away. Then when I was all sad they brought out a box that was too big and I wasn't even excited about it. Thinking it was too big to be a MoTU figure. After opening it like a cynical brat.... Man-E-Faces was at the bottom. Jumped for joy! I still have those figures to this day. Great times for imagination and creative thinking.

Such a nostalgia hit seeing Evil-Lyn laughing. I watch so much of He-Man and the New Adventures of Flash Gordon and never noticed that the animation was the same as Ming's daughter Aura laughing. Even the running motion for Flash and He-Man looks the same even though the character models are different. Not to mention Ming and Skeletor sharing a voice actor. But as a kid, I was lost in the magic.

Great job on this video! Well done! I was a huge fan of Masters of the Universe back then starting in 1982. The comics that came with the characters were great as well as the toys. I thought the cartoon was a little on the childish side compared to the original image of the toys and included comics but still well done. The music was memorable and good too. They even used some very good 24fps animation which is rare in cartoons (and re-used many of those scenes again and again). I didn't understand that back then but simply noticed it looked more fluid and real. The cartoon seemed to bring the franchise to the masses and had some good moral lessons too. I remember seeing the Sorceress toy at a KB toy store near the end of the run but by then had quit buying the toys. Seems some of the most creative toys were at the end.

The first two waves were the best, and the original four mini-comics was the best storyline too.

I was a collector of the original line back in 1982. I have just recently just started buying vintage figures & Classics again.
