Join Heli Network on Facebook for more videos and pictures. Thanks to all the viewers & subscribers for watching. It has been my privilege to share these experiences over the past several years. Views, specifically thanks to the advertisements has made these videos possible. A new GoPro2 with audio adapter is the latest addition. And am wanting to purchase another camera for a different angles. Keep up the clicks, even though we all hate the advertisements! :)
April 2012, AH-64 Apache Helicopterstarting up, departing, and a low pass at Allen Stage field at the end of another family day.

xenomorphelv426 because they are unequipped. the slighest sophistication of weaponry could easily destroy this primitive apache. It's a very vulnerable platform. Interestingly most modern warfare, at least the part in public, is predicated on the enemy being without weapons. A dirt cheap rocket missile with sort of arduino amateur level targeting systems could easily destroy an apache from its normal distance of engagement. in daytime at least. for night time you would need a thermal camera which is maybe 1000$. the apache is a sitting duck. it has no defensive capability of any significance. a decently engineered 1000$ missile could have a daytime kill rate of 99+% and with thermal it would be the same at night. and if you designed a weapon specifically to target the apache you could develop a radio sensor for that particular vehicle signature that would cost a couple of dollars and not be the slightest bit confused by chaff or flares.
@xenomorphelv426
@xenomorphelv426 9 жыл бұрын
Dan Frederiksen the apache can hit target at 8km range. you sure must trust your home-made seeker otherwise Kaboom !!.
@DanFrederiksen
@DanFrederiksen 9 жыл бұрын
xenomorphelv426 I could home make it but who says it would be home made, homie. And how would an apache see where it came from... it has no systems for that. Indeed it would likely never detect the incoming weapon unless it was looking straight at it. And even then that could be countered by making it jet powered instead of rocket. Fly on level ground at moderate speed with ducted exhaust with no significant IR profile and climb up towards it at the end. Or perhaps better, rise at a 45 degree angle and attack from above out of field of view. If the weapon rises without significant IR signature then apache will never see it coming. Try to rely less on dumb murica thinking such as 'kaboom' and instead realize how sick and weak the USA military is.

around 6:27 after the helicopter vanished behind the big building in the foreground, it doesnt apear at all while passing the lower building between the tower and the bigger building. But at 6:31 it leaves the cover of the tower at an height that makes me think the movie got edited somehow. Unless the apache droped down extremly low over the ground after it vanished behind the left builing so it got fully covered behind the middle part and then ascend up while behind the tower before leaving its cover. That or between the tower and the left building is a wall wich upper part is painted like sky :P
