Thank you for the looks guys! I saw the comments about using different springs for the stainless valves. I ended up sending back the stainless valves and ordered titanium to use with the factory KTM dual springs that I ordered 🤘

Michael the Stock oem Valves for your ktm are made by Del West, very high quality and def the best choice when its time to replace them.

And next time u have cc to remove inner brg race on the crankshaft to getvthose shims out Michael, just heat up C that KTM Special tool with torch an grab the bearing race an it comes right off.i repair quite a few of the sxf engines and i wont lie,i had a good laugh watching u try to use the tool and then revert to the other method,oh well, live an learn.when u have over 45yrs in the Motorcycle technician game you learn to read instructions every now and again.keep up the good work and im sure ur next ktm bottom end rebuild will go much smoother, peace&wheelies.

Im pretty sure you cant use stock springs when changing to stainless valves. The reason is, they are heavier and the valves will float at high rpm and contact the piston.

The crank was spinning when you were trying to use the ktm tool. You have to heat up the tool slip it on like you did but then when you squeeze it you’ve got to twist it back and forth and it’ll come right off

The stark is bad ass. Straight up. The adjustability is insane: engine braking, hp, throttle, etc. it’s a bike that your kid can learn in and a bike that is too fast for an experienced rider at the same time. Got to ride one a month ago and it was so much fun

Mike, just spend the little bit of money on new cables whenever your doing a fresh build. I learned the hard way. I completely rebuilt a CR250 and replaced almost everything. I didnt bother changing clutch cable or throttle cable. Well i took the bike fo the dunes for it's firtdt major trip, did a day trip just around the desert before that with no issues. At the dunes i was miles from camp when my clutch cable decided to break. Absolutely worst time possible, on my way back to camp cause the sun eas setting. I didnt bother changing it when doing the build cause it felt great and looked good but man i was wishing i did lol. Good idea to just change them for peace of mind. Just replace them and not worry about having a used one break on you, you have no idea how old they are.

The stock del west valves that come in the ktms are really good I’ve got over three hundred hours on them and every time I check the valve clearances they haven’t moved at all. As long as you take care of your air filter often you won’t ever have a problem with the titanium valves

that color on 30:14 is a variant of the known "camel and blue" combination, funny enough in this very moment you see the other variant in that tank behind, orange and lighter blue wich is known because of the gulf porsche. Its not an easy combination to nail on a car because you are forced to do graphics or go too hard on one or the other, but a bike with all its different parts has waaay more room to play with kinda like when its used in clothing. Looking forward to how its going to be.

On my LTR450, I switched to Kibblewhite stainless steel valves and springs for durability and they only lasted 2 months before one of the exhaust valves broke off and ruined my head. I went back to titanium and stock valves and been running strong ever since. Just my thoughts, stock is titanium and would suggest you keep the same.

Sometimes I feel like I would love an E-Bike for the 10-20min Ride.. I don't do many Multi hour rides anymore. I do love the fact that if I drain the gas and either winterize or Summerize my bike, quad, or Snowmobile, it can sit for weeks, months, or even Years? I feel like the E-Bike will be obsolete after 3-5yrs and the batteries will be junk?! 😢😮

The stainless valves are not a downgrade. TI valves are over-hyped by too many amateurs. Bottom line is, Stainless valves are great and last far longer. The only person who will see the very small difference in performance is a pro rider with a huge team behind him and some deep pockets. That difference in weight is NOT relevant to us weekend warriors. Great video Mike! Keep up the great work!

As cool as the e-bikes are I just can't seem to like them. Every time I ride them I feel like I'm on a big e mountain bike. I just don't get the same feeling as a gas powered dirt bike. The power delivery on an ebike ruins the feeling of a dirt bike. Still cool though. Guess it's for certain people.

I dont think stainless valves are worth it, i have had titanium valves last just as long as stainless valves. i have also seen stainless valves 'drop/float' just like any other valve. if you want less power or something more reliable then get an enduro/trials bike, mx bikes are high performance and high maintenance. perfectly balanced like all things should be.
