Pretty nice mixed mosaic guppies there! ; ) Yeah "They" say that the temperature doesn't matter, but when I forgot to turn on my heater for about 2-3 weeks after a water change, my red cobra guppy fry grew up 90% female. Now that I keep it on all the time, about 80*f, I'm getting LOTS more males now. Funny guy with the camera may be on to something.

Man I must say out of weeks of watching videos this was simply the most informative with out a lot of babbling of everything else you have going on in your life love the video! definitely will subscribe! I've been the guppy nerd since the early 80s after building fish ponds for people for the last 15 years I haven't had a tank setup or had time. I just recently picked up a 15 gallon nano tank and started back up a 65 tall and in trying to patiently wait for it to cycle but when it does I will hit you up for some fish! Keep up the good work and you're to the point videos thank you... I'm now a fan👊
@MichaelsFishRoom5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Good luck with the new tanks! What are you going to keep besides guppies?
@RcOutreach5 жыл бұрын
Most likely some neon tetras. Although I don't see many people mingling them together these days? Also want to add some plants and have been researching it a little I have an undergravel filter as well as the back filter and a sponge filter in the 65 gallon tank so I might be limited because I've already put the under gravel in and have to figure out if I can put some small potted plants in there so I can still vacuum the gravel? You have any good tips on that?
@MichaelsFishRoom5 жыл бұрын
I’ve never used an under gravel filter. But if you have the plants in pots you should be fine.

How do you keep from getting the bent spine in the guppies?
@MichaelsFishRoom6 жыл бұрын
How many have bent spines?
@boopy64305 жыл бұрын
Usually that happens when your male and female are related somehow. Much like with people, guppy inbreeding causes problems inclusing more sickly fry, bent spines, and shorter life spans.
@MichaelsFishRoom5 жыл бұрын
This is simply not true. At least for many many many generations (in my experience)
@boopy64305 жыл бұрын
In my experience most from pet stores are already from the same generations so a lot of younger guppies develop bent spines when they age due to their genes. I guess it just depends on how well people care for their fish prior to where you get them around here.
