Completely agree with a varied diet for guppies. I used a coffee grinder to grind up flake, pellets, and freeze dried foods which I mixed with repashy powder and tiny golden pearls and put it in a ketchup squeeze bottle for the fry. The adults love it too.

Thanks. I'm new to guppies and it seemed like every video aimed at beginner fish keepers warned about over feeding to an extreme. They'd say stuff like "whatever you think they need, cut that to less than half." Not being convinced I started to do what you say, feed a bit and wait, then again, etc. I finally found where they slow down so I try to stay just shy of that slow down point and eventually they end up eating the stuff that fell to the bottom.

Good video as always. I also feed my guppies a ton of different stuff. I love how nuts they go for frozen blood worms. Really makes them breed when they have a good variety of food and lots of it! Speaking of plecos too, I was just given an adult long-fin albino female by a guy at a crazy LFS store I just found. If you get bored and have 20 minutes, check out the video that will be up today. This guys is running a store LITERALLY out of his house with a variance granted by the county. Its an amazing story of entrepreneurship.

The reason I came to watch this is because I have tropical flakes as my main food, but I also have baby shrimp and dead blood worms as treats. But I noticed that they can barely eat the shrimp or blood worms, so I cut them up, and they can still barely eat the shrimp. But they can eat the worms. But after like 25-30 minutes of being beat up, the shrimp will be soft and small enough for them to eat

How often do you feed them? That dude in Israel feeds all day and his Guppies are big and healthy. Hey Mike, I have a question. We have a 100 gallon tank with 15 ( only male ) guppies 10 rasbora's,10 kardinal tetra's, 10 corydora's, 5 khuli loaches, 2 hillstream loaches and some neocaridina shrimp ( about 50 ). In the morning between 9 and 10 when the light is still out they get some flake's about the bottom of a thee spoon covered. In the evening they get some frozen food arthemia ( brine shrimp ?) or bloodworms ( about 2.5 grams ) and 3 times a week half a tablet of sperulina goes in. The only problem is when the guppies start to get older (like 9 or 10 months old) they start getting a belly. Is there anything we can do about this? Just feeding less is not so easy because the corydora's get no food nor do the kardinals get anything.
@MichaelsFishRoom2 жыл бұрын
What do you mean "a belly"?

@@MichaelsFishRoom Thanks for the fast responds. I posted a small video ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGLGo4J4bbqMj80 ).
