This video illustrates exactly the kind of instruction the manufacturer should provide. I picked up a used S1-R last week and the instruction manuals are almost as heavy as the camera. Thanks for producing this excellent video.

Just purchased the S5. Thank you so so much for this video, which apart from a few settings is just as good for the S5 as it is for the S1. You've been a lifesaver compared to the manual that came with the camera. This clearly took a lot of time and work and it's hugely appreciated.

They should have a customer af mode where you can design your own stencil outline. Put in no cropping at 60fps at 4k and do a master body made from light weight injected plastic high strength and free firmware and the others will be quaking in their boots. A floppy screen just to rub insult for self mode.

@blakeanncook73755 жыл бұрын
Excellent tutorial! Incredible amount of info. Thanks much. I have one question which you may not be able to answer. I just purchased the camera and am using Zeiss Milvus lenses with an all manual adapter. When I turn on the camera it asked what focal length, etc., so it recognizes that I am using a manual lens. However, I am unable to remove the AF area display lines (box) no matter what I do. My guess is, when defaulted to manual focus, these lines remain. I am sure this issue may be address in a firmware update, but it is a bit frustrating presently. It is a great camera though. Thanks again for your fine tutorial - which I am still working my way through. Lots of info.
@MMaven5 жыл бұрын
Does this happen with native lenses? I have seen a few weird buggy things but I’m not aware of this one As I have not adopted over however I do not see this overlay when I take the lens off.
@blakeanncook73755 жыл бұрын
I have not had a chance to use the native lenses, only Zeiss Milvus (Nikon Mount) via an entirely manual adapter - since the Milvus lenses are manual. I have the AF area display box (in the menu) ticked off, but to no avail. Perhaps this will be corrected in a firmware update. Not a huge deal either way, but would be nice to turn this off.
@blakeanncook73755 жыл бұрын
(Just an update) I spoke the folks at B&H regarding this problem and they indicated (after being on hold for quite some time) that they couldn’t remove the overlay either after attempting to do so on their copy of the camera (presumably in manual mode, using Panasonic lens). The gentleman at B&H even indicated that they gave a quick call to a Panasonic engineer to inquire about the problem. So, it seems this may be a bug in the software when in manual mode, but not sure.
