Some things you probably didn’t know about Roy Clark. He was an excellent athlete. He was invited to spring training by the St. Louis Browns, he didn’t go because he didn’t have money for the train fare. He also boxed professionally as a light heavyweight, winning 15 bouts. By 1950 he had his own band and added fiddle, piano, trumpet, trombone, and drums to his list of instruments played. He also performed a comedy act during the band’s breaks. He played lead guitar for Jimmy Dean’s Texas Wildcats, and Wanda Jackson’s band. There’s more, this is only a partial list.

His speed in this clip and alternate picking on a 12 string guitar. His version of "Orange Blossom Special" with Johnny Cash is impressive. He was with us up to 2018 and was star of a long running tv show from 69 to 97. An amazing career and performer.

His strumming is mezmerizing. He so easily mixes in half chords, full chords, and partial string damping to create both the background rhythm and lead at the same time, all at lightning speed and complete precision. And he picks just as well. On electric and acoustic guitar, pedal steel guitar, dobro, banjo, violin, and mandolin. He played classical, flamenco, country, and bluegrass with equal ability. Roy Clark was the most talented stringed instrumentalist in history.

If the video you're reacting to here is correct, the performance would have been about 1993/94 making him 60 or 61 years old. I got to see him in concert in 1996 in Ohio; it was amazing and Malaguena was his closer. My wife who is a classically trained flautist sat next to me mouth hanging open in disbelief at this performance. Roy Clark = GOAT

As a mechanic sometimes you can not see the part you are installing so you in your mind need to visualize what it looks like. and I garrote Roy is doing the same thing.
