Such a powerfull singer allied to a deep deep heartfelt song .The poor poor Jews to have the truly ghastly experience of captivity in Babylon.This tune and the lyrics sung so beautifully evochs all that.Utterly heartfelt.Thankyou so much.

This piyyut was written by Dunash Ben Labrat in Cordoba entirely in Biblical Hebrew, rather then a mixture later and biblical Hebrew which is the case for most piyyutim.

Bu kadın ,(Sefarad )yahudisi . Kökü İspanyol yahudilerine dayanır. Kullanılan dil ,galiba LADİNO. denilen bir dil.Hep dini müzik söyler,dini müzik yaparlar. Konu derin, fazla girmeyin konuya. Tarihden az çok aklınızda kalmış ise, Endülüs’ten (İspanyadan ) Osmanlı’nın Türkiye’ye getirdiği Yahudiler.yıl 1492 Buradan dünyaya yayıldılar. İlk defa İstanbul’a geldiklerinde dinlemiştim, yanımdan geçen bir yahudi hızla uzaklaştı,ileride buldum ,sordum. Boş ver , dedi ama ürkmüştü. Bu dili çok çok az kimse bilir ,bu nereden öğrenmiş,demişti. Yasak mı ,dedim. Yok yok yok diye gitti. O zaman göğüsleri tam meydanda olmasa bile ,çok dikkat çekiyordu. Gençlerin kıkırdaşmasından fark ettik. Ondan sonra devamlı şal kullanır olmuş.
