You're so right at the end though. MJ let it slide for too long. His whole thing was always about mystery and keeping the public's interest. That was his game back in the 80s, to never talk about his private life and rarely do interviews. Not adding publicity creates more publicity. It was one of his secrets to making himself this untouchable legend. He let rumors slide for too long though until it was the 90s and it was too late. He did try many times to reverse it though and show people that he is a normal human. I feel like people in recent years are only just now starting to understand him and it's sad it took that long.
