This was a direct shot at the media for portraying him as "weird" a "freak" etc like seriously they called him every bad name possible nonstop because of his appearance etc, him saying that he scares kids (the allegations and stuff) but this shows the kids smilling and not scared, Michael is basically saying that he's not evil and the kids actually like him and have fun, despite people saying otherwise, the part where he possesses the mayor and he is forced to look at himself is very strong to me, he is basically saying that they are the evil scary ones being cruel and not him because he is not a threat and didn't do nothing wrong, so you're right when you said that it was about that! It's sad in a way.. great reaction ❤❤ love your channel you're very funny!

Michael Jackson played 5 characters in the video: The Maestro (just him with no special effects or prosthetic makeup) The Mayor (Prosthetic makeup) The Ghoul (Prosthetic makeup) The Mayor Ghoul (Prosthetic makeup) The dancing skeleton (Motion capture)

My favroite line in this is "You know you're scaring me too, I think the evil is you" because everyone was so pressed to find anything MJ did as "weird" but MJ was saying to me you guys are the scary ones. The press was literally chasing me from country to country following him in bathrooms and hotels and (like in searching for neverland) having him run underground to get a weird picture of him.

This Short Film is a pure masterpiece it premiered out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival 1996 and was shown in theaters before the Stephen King film Thinner the crowd, security guards and even French police went berserk at Cannes in 1996 when MJ arrived at the Ghosts premiere we’ll never see sum like that ever again in life,and can we talk about how phenomenal of an actor MJ truly was/is also let me give you sum fun facts the Ghosts Short Film was created to compete against Thriller and to me MJ outdid himself artistically Thriller Short Film is still more iconic but Ghosts is also in it’s own right choreography is top notch definitely the hardest choreography of all time and this was also the first time technology/CGI was used in this way,the skeleton dancing was actually MJ dancing he was in a motion capture outfit you gotta watch the Behind The Scenes Of Ghosts and most of his Short Films and you’re officially in the start of Blood On The Dance Floor Era also just watching this one masterpiece will let anyone know that this universe will NEVER see this type of complete genius ever again!!!! He is was and will always be the greatest showman to have ever lived The Greatest Music Artist To Ever Live The King Of Music Forever! Michael Joseph Jackson😅🙌🏽👑👻🔥💯(The Meaning of “Ghosts” ~ It symbolizes how people can be so jealous of someone's well earned luscious life. They can can get so jealous that at one point it can get physical hence the line You put a knife in my back, shot an arrow in me!. When he says who gave you the right to shake my family tree, he talks straight to the media, who is always spying on MJ and his family and never lets him have peace. he indirectly tells the media not to do this. in the video, people come to MJ’s place [in the video] without his permission. See, you gotta understand the problem of being famous. Media/Tabloid Junk is always trying to peep into their social, and personal life. Michael just tells them that this is not fair which he is RIGHT!)

Ig the part of the video when he & the zombies are putting on a show represents him being a performer while also showing he's fun to be around irl. P.S Rick Baker did everyone's makeup including MJ cuz he was the Mayor. He did the makeup in thriller too and even did Eddie Murphy's makeup for Nutty Professor. The whole skeleton thing was Michael dancing irl and they took an X Ray of him and they animated it for the video.

10:39 the first song in the film is called 2 Bad (also features Shaq rapping. idk who’s idea that was but he did what was needed). interestingly enough, 2 Bad is on the History album and not on Blood On the Dance floor, which comes out afterwards (and has the song Ghosts on it). 2 Bad is supposed to be a sequel to Bad (obviously) and is basically Mike’s criticism of Hollywood and the entertainment industry. hope this helps

the second song is called Is It Scary and is on the Blood and the Dance floor album. it’s kind of like an alternate version to the song “ghosts” (has similar lyrics) and is also Mike’s criticism of the entertainment industry and how they try show him as a monster (this was during or after the child accusations, and he was facing a lot of criticism for his skin colour changing as well). during the song he explains that they (the press, entertainment industry, etc) are actually the bad people and since they can’t turn him into one, they try to portray him as one instead
