Great work David, I've listened to most your videos on the "poststructualists/postmoderns" and with regards to Foucault in general, I feel so far this series has been the most clear and spot on - would love to hear to revisit The Order of Things after all these years. I loved that you tipped the hat to Baudrillard at the end there in the mirror of discourse and your reconciliation of these views. I struggle with this paradox in Foucault's work.

You accuse Foucault of doing the exact thing he criticizes others for, but is he criticizing others in the sense that he is saying these practices are negative, or is he merely explaining how things are like? You also seem to be prone to the mistake of thinking that different discourses don't correctly present the objective reality. But Foucault's insight is much more radical than this. Different discourses are precisely what forms the objective reality.
