RIP to Jane Powell (9/16/2021) and them all. Am sure they’re making beautiful music in the great beyond. Talent, beauty and class of the likes I feel we won’t see again. This clip makes me happy :)

How great to see Judy and Ray together after all those years. Amazing that Judy was a teen in Wizard of Oz and here she is in her 40s still performing with him. Wonder how that was for the cast of Wizard of Oz to see Judy become Garland through the years

She was Garland already when she made the movie.

This is totally fun to watch and excellent to learn about. I love watching The Judy Garland Show, especially when it showcases her dancing.

I am a huge fan of Judy Garland and used to have over 90 of her record albums ! I thought Judy was funny and a very sweet fun lady not at all what the tragic way they made her out to be no way a tragic figure no way !

They need to bring back the variety show like this. Cute rendition of the cut 1939 song.

I had heard that Carol Burnett said that variety shows of yesteryear would now be too expensive to do that the networks would never do them.

Awesome! I love it! Ya know, I really wish there was a channel on TV that would show old variety shows like this. Even TV Land has gone the way of reality TV, which I can't stand. In fact alot of today's programming I have no use for, and I'm 36. It's ashamed that you have to go on the Internet now to watch old shows. Yes I may sound old fashion, but I would rather watch The Judy Garland Show over Jersey Shore or The Hills any day. Thank you so much for posting this!!

And to think they took this awesome talented lady's show off the air after only one season. They didn't even tape this legend's program in color. What an insult. I am a 66 year old female. She is my absolute overall favorite performer. I love her so much that I even named my 7 year old palomino Judy Garland.

Mindy 100% agreed. I’m 47 and only have the desire to watch pre-2000’s television and movies. Casting today is so bad that it’s insane. Tired of seeing 25 year old male models cast as lead detectives or CIA top brass. Reality check, most 25 year old guys these days are living in mom and dad’s basement playing Minecraft...

@@longgrayline8055 I am so grateful that I was born in the fifties. Born and raised in New Orleans. Wonderful childhood. Safe. TV was great back then.

I like the original version better. Not sure if it's in any other books but the Official 50th Anniversary book (1989) shows two or three pages of the jitterbug scene in the script from the movie, which describes their actions before and during the song (they each get bit one at a time and comically slap each other trying to get the bug).

Besides breaking the dramatic tension of the story, it would’ve dated the movie in a way that none of the other songs do.
