Even though he is sadly no more, I adore Ray Bolger. You can tell that he was a kind gentleman with a sense of fun. No wonder Judy was so fond of him. One can’t help but also love him.

I'd bet she had a crush on him in the sense that was he an older gentleman who treated her the way she should be treated. She seemed to have felt safe and almost vulnerable around him

The scarecrow was my favorite, as well! As a little girl, how was it possible to have a crush on a scarecrow? This made me smile...and cry a little bit. 🥹😍

I know what you mean. I grew up with a brain injury from when I fell on the top bunk bed. I felt I was so dumb I had no brain. I’d have a crush on this scarecrow
