When I discovered hoop dance I instantly fell in love with it. As a new mom at the time I was in search of a fun and different form of exercise that I could do from the convenience of my home and I initially started hooping for the health and fitness aspects of it.
However hoop dance became so much more to me than that. It became my own creative form of self-expression and stress relief. It deepened my mind body connection and became my moving meditation. It boosted my confidence and helped me to create a healthy active lifestyle.
It ultimately gave me a total self-transformation and taught me the art of practice, patience and perseverance. And as I developed a strong passion for the hoop I also felt called and inspired to share it and encourage others to discover the immense benefits of hoop dance. So I got connected in the hooping community and attended workshops. I now teach hoop dance courses at a local dance institute and online at my site autumnflow.com.
Hooping has brought me so many incredible opportunities and I'm still always learning from my sacred circle. I am driven by my creativity and compassion for people and combining the two to bring the joy of hoop dance into the lives of others gives me so much happiness.

Hi Selina. If you want one that breaks down into pieces then you'll need to get a sectional polypro hoop. We have a large selection of them at autumnflow.com. Are you a beginner hooper? If so I'd recommend starting with a 3/4th polypro with a gaffers tape and a diameter in between 32-35" depending on how tall you are.

You are such a wonderful inspiration! Thank you so much for posting this video, I just started hooping about 4 months ago and thought it was going to be so difficult. Videos like yours make it feel like a mountain climb (figuratively) is possible with patience! With diligence I hope to be as beautiful with my flow as you are! Thank you so very much. :)

dear Michele, thank you for sharing these tricks! its really helpful for me. I have been hooping for 5 years now and i still confused with the size of my hoop. could you pls tell me the ideal diameter? Thanks a lot, keep it up!
@michelemccoy
@michelemccoy 4 жыл бұрын
Glad it's helpful! I recommend measuring from the floor to your bellybutton, that diameter should be a good size if you're a beginner. However, since you've been hooping for 5 years you might want to go down a few inches. A lot of people find 35 inches in diameter to be a sweet spot for onbody hooping, but it's all personal preference. Check out my website for more hoop info: www.autumnflow.com. Feel free to message us if you have more questions!
