Wow I can't believe CI actually serves a proper meal with fruits and appetizer on a short 1.5 hrs flight. Qantas only serves a pack of cheese and crackers on the 1.5 hrs flight from Sydney to Melbourne.

exactly!! I was beyond impressed!! I flew this route in 2019 and it was just the hot meal, no appetiser and fruits. Such a generous and welcoming upgrade

Great report...sitting on the floor at the airport at 4:30 am is surreal, you're a true road warrior. Food looked super lekker on the flight! I loved the HK city vlog. It could be a tourism video for HK. I've been to all over those places except Disney World. It was a bit out of the way for us. Such nice weather there on this video!

Great trip report again Mr Wong 😁. Wow! that much food on a short haul sector, that's even more than SQ! When we were in Hong Kong (just before Covid) my friend who is Cathay crew, took both of us to have soup dumplings at a local food outlet, OMG, they were amazing, there's nothing like that in Sydney!!

Great video, Jayden! That was an amazing meal service for such a short flight. And you could even order a special meal! In the US, you'd be lucky to get a drink and a cookie in economy on a short flight like that. It looked like the service was great and the seat was comfortable. It looks like you had a lot of fun with your friend in HK. Safe travels!

Thank-you Jayden for sharing your flight with us. This is your friend Guerry from the States again, writing in an attempt to boost your tender ego (Just kidding!). I am so glad that you enjoyed your flight. However, I am surprised that you were able to safely arrive in Hong Kong without having a coat hook at your seat. I can imagine how depressed that made you, but thank goodness you ate a good meal on the flight to compensate for China Airlines’ gross omission. By the way, I did catch the part where you allowed food to drop from your fork. I was very pleased to see how clean the crew kept the lavatory, which for me is the mark of a well-run airline. I was impressed with all the amenities provided in the China Airlines’ lounge. I always appreciate seeing both local and western options available on the food line. I thought the food to order option was a very nice touch when it came to service. Furthermore, the free lotions offered in the shower were exceptionally gracious gifts on the part of China Airlines. At the end of your video, I was very happy to see how well you kept your friend entertained. Apart from putting up with me, I can tell you are truly a very good friend. I am glad to have met you. I am just so sorry for not being able to view and comment on all the videos you post. For when I am not able to watch what you have worked hard on sharing with us, I disappoint myself. Again, thank-you so very much for sharing your trip with us. I truly enjoyed it and hope I am able to keep viewing your work on a weekly basis. Do note that I do have difficulty understanding Mandarina and Cantonese. JUST KIDDING!

Hey Jayden, great trip report as always. Btw just have a simple question, for Skyteam’s Elite Plus, how come tier holders get access to different lounges on same flight as what you did for CI lounges at T1 and T2? I thought we still need to show the invitation cards whenever we visit the lounge. Many thanks

hi there! CX do invitation cards too :) They exist just so it clear to you which lounge you can use and it expedites the entry process. T2 lounge took mine away. So when I got to T1 they had to scan my boarding pass and do some quick tricks on their computer :) takes about 30 seconds haha Vietnam Airlines took the longest. They photocopied my boarding pass, I think because they would send it (as evidence) along with the invoice to Delta

Excellent Trip report and another use of their A350-900s are the TPE to MNL and CEB routes. Sadly CI Dynasty Flyer Skyteam Elite Plus can't access a DL Skyclub like EWR Terminal B gates B40-50. While a competitor BR Star Alliance Gold Gains access to United Clubs in EWR ORD IAH IAD SFO GUM and LAX Thai Airways lounge in BKK Asiana ICN/GMP NH NRT/HND AC YYZ,YUL, YVR. Between CI and BR which one is better? This meal should tie competitor BR and star alliance partners 5 star rated NH SQ & OZ CI Skyteam partner KE possibly MU VN and better than it's competitor PR on TPE-MNL. My question is this between CX,BR & CI on TPE-HKG which one offers better services. go back to 2001-2006 CI had poor service and they had a fatal crash CI611. Knew this because my Grandfather did JFK-KIX-TPE-MNL round trip with CI on B747-400. NH also has a Pokemon Aeroplane. CI A359s are like CX versions dual USB Traditional plugs which should be the norm not USB only while leaving premium passengers both options. Which is what RP-C3501-3508 have

You and your friend had a great time at the Happy Valley Racecourse recently, and I’m sure you both know by now that 18 decades of horse racing in my hometown 🇸🇬 will end after the last race (100th Singapore Gold Cup) next October. Very sad that a piece of heritage will be sent to history as the Government will be taking back the Kranji Racecourse land in 2027 for redevelopment. For me, I know its sad but its also good in a way that they (the Gov) close it so there’ll be fewer ppl gambling given the number of problem gamblers out there. The Singapore Turf Club operated at Farrer Park (1824-1933), Bukit Timah (1933-1999) and Kranji (1999-2027) throughout its glorious history. The late QE2 visited the Club twice in 1972 and 2006.

Yep I definitely heard about the racecourse matter in Singapore, sad indeed. I've been the Riders Cafe. Not sure if there's a racecourse there but there are certainly horses there. Wonder if it'll be impacted.

It depends on the aircraft you’re comparing with. On this route EVA usually use 787 and 321 both have narrower seats. But if you compare just their 777. EVA definitely is a lot wider!!
