Here is a video for you featuring my re-creation of the Beatles song “Michelle” from the “Rubber Soul“ album. It’s a relatively simple song as far as the arrangement goes, however there was one component that was keeping me from recording it until now: the backing vocals. There are six individual parts, and I had had a difficult time transcribing them because there are sections where some notes are doubled an octave lower, and others where parts are moving in contrary motion to each other. Those factors, combined with how those background vocals sit in the mix, made it difficult to hear what was going on. After some persistence, I was finally able to “crack the code”.
This is the fastest I have ever produced a video. The whole process-from recording the very first note, to mixing the audio, to editing the video and saving the final file to be uploaded to KZbin-took only five days.
As usual, I'm playing and singing all the parts. What you see in this video are the actual performances as I recorded them. There is no "lip-syncing" or miming. Enjoy!
