Recasting Michelle was a big mistake, because regardless of whether Susan Tully wanted to return or not, Michelle's return was never going to be effective by recasting her, so there was no point in doing it in the first place.

I think she did a good job considering she had very memorable shoes to fill. Of course, everyone would have preferred Susan Tully back and she would have knocked all of her storylines out of the park, but Jenna did well. I think Jenna even adopted a lot of Susan Tully's mannorisms

Andy Stacey Actually she technically hasn’t in some respect. Preston was legally under the age of consent when Michelle was sleeping with him so technically it was statutory rape hence why she lost her job as a teacher. The legal age of sexual consent in most American states is 18 years old and she was his teacher which makes it worse. Keanu was 20-21 when he and Sharon started their affair. The legal age of sexual consent in England is 16 years old The only thing that Sharon did that was similar was go behind her husband’s and children’s backs and start an affair albeit with a much younger man but difference remains Keanu was of legal age and Preston wasn’t.

XENOCLOUD Carol Jackson was grieving Billy’s death at the time and not having a mid life crisis like Sharon and Michelle both were and again the guy who Carol spelt with Connor was of legally consenting age. The poor woman had lost her son, she didn’t know what she was doing.

They asked Susan Tully first but she refused to return so they cast Jenna but they never used Jenna to her full potential, she is SO much better than this, i have seen with my own eyes live what she can do and how talented she is and i am so glad she left because they treated her so unfairly there!

I'm pleased i missed this first time around, sorry i watched this one. I had to read comments to find out if that actress was really Michelle Fowler. It's disgusting, no wonder Susan wouldn't come back. Why do all the old characters have to be turned into something horrendous to their original characters. They went far to far with this one. Scriptwriters need their minds washed out with soap.
