Arctic what if by sabotaging that device that was to kill missy, the doctor did something to it which causes her to regenerate in reverse which leaves her turning back into john simms master

That is actually possible; she keeps wanting to be his friend and they were supposedly childhood friends. Also, she has only made references to early Gallifreyian (sp?) life that we know of.

Missy is back and we are loving it! Episode was amazing but I think I need to rewatch this tomorrow to catch up at things I might have missed. There was so much information and things happening, that I probably overlooked things as I was too excited Missy is finally back on screen. :D Also thanks for showing the picture, makes me feel proud and happy. :D ❤

Michelle kinda messed up that story. As I know it, it goes like this: A skorpion (they are the ones who can't swim so the story will make sense) wants to cross a river. He sees a frog at the shore and asks it to help him get to the other side. The frog goes (To use Michelle's beautiful words) "No way! What if you sting me and kill me!?" but the skorpion replies: "Why would I? That'd be really stupid. If I stung you at the middle of the river we would both die. I can't swim." So the frog agrees to help the skorpion. As predicted, right in the middle of the river, the skorpion uses it's tail and stings the frog. The frog looks at it in disbelief: "Why did you do that? Now we're both going to die!" And the skorpion simply answers: "I can't help it. It's in my nature."

I did worry at one point during extremis that they were going to say the entirety of the Whoniverse was a simulation in an attempt to canonise the show into existence and make as many plot holes as they like.

It truly was a mysterious episode. I like the fact that Steven Moffat has worked the Matrix idea again (Silence in the Library) and it worked out pretty well. Can't wait to see what comes next!

As I kept saying, it was Missy in the vault. Who else stuck with this theory? It couldn't be anyone else and certainly not John Simms Master and by episode 4 it was basically confirmed.

Isaac Faruque Perhaps it was supposed to be obvious, I mean we seem to be under the impression that the Vault was the big secret this year, the problem with that is that this plot line was announced to be resolved halfway through the series and there's not even a cutaway point in the series like 6 or 7. The actual question that should be asked is who the hell were the guys who tried to execute and how did they get access to that technology?

Well, we haven't actually opened the vault yet. That's a very important thing to note.

X L they sort of explained that. They're the executioners for the galaxy and they have to do their research and learn how to kill every creature in the galaxy. That's why they said that a time lord was an exceptional task or something to that effect.

the scorpion is the passenger in this story (whether the swimmer is a fox or a frog) - so the sting results in BOTH drowning

11:22 actually a paraphase of it. it is the fox and the scorpian. Fox initally refuses cause scorpion will sting him. Scorpian says it will be mad cause they will both drown. Half way across the scorpian sings the fox. The fox says ," y we are both going to drown?". Scorpian says," I can't help it; I am a scorpian

I've noticed that subsequent rebroadcasts of Extremis has the White House dialogue scene edited, omitting references to Super Mario. Nintendo had a problem with that? It's significant to that scene and I hope it is not permanently deleted on DVD.

I liked how the opening of "Oxygen" referenced Star Trek "Space: the final frontier." and the "Extremis" opening referenced Star Wars "A long time ago..." (and then later mentioned Star Trek again). When that guy asks Bill and Nardole to pick random numbers, the first number they say is 36. While this is the 10th series since Doctor Who's revival in 2005, it is also the 36th season in total. Fancy that. (I know I already typed this comment, but for some reason it was only visible to me, so I deleted it and tried again.)

MIchelle got the particulars of the frog story backwards - the frog gives the scorpion the ride - the moral is the more or less the same - except the scorpion cant swim - the frog remember asks why the scorpion would sting him because the scorpion will now drown and die too - the scorpion can't help himself from being evil even though it kills him...

shes Capaldi's Master. Just like Delgado was Pertwee's Master and Simm was Tennant's Master. Yes, Simm is coming back for the series finale, but its for a multi Master story (which has never been done before outside of Big Finish, so it'll be interesting to see how the Master interacts with himself)

Yeah, and in that episode, it was planned that the Master would sacrifice himself to save the Doctor. Of course, the reason the Doctor would be in danger would be because of the Masters plan (whatever it would have been.) But Delgado had wanted to leave anyway, since everyone thought he was working on Doctor Who he was losing out on a lot of work

How do you get that Fable so wrong. The scorpion travels across the river on the back of the frog. The frog trusts the scorpion because as the scorpion says "if I sting you, you will die and I will drown". So the frog agrees to help and as they cross the river the scorpion on the frogs back stings the frog. The frog asks "Why have you stung me, now we will both die?" and the scorpion replies "I am a scorpion, that is my nature and cannot be denied".

Wow, finally a good series 10 episode. Moffat is back good form. I love his misdirection, twist turns and complexity. Also, some of the underlying phyiscs concepts are really cool i.g. reality as a simulation and "The thing about the universe is what you need you can always borrow as long as you pay it back." i.e. Quantum Mechanics. Unfortunately the preview of next week's conclusion doesn't look to promising.

Don't want to be pernickety but it's the frog who gives the scorpion a ride as the scorpion says that if he stung the frog he'd die too. But then he stings the frog anyway..............because he's a scorpion!
