The world has certainly changed A LOT since those days. I walked to school. I walked home. But now days, I would not let my kids walk to school. I'm not sure I'd even allow my kids to GO TO SCHOOL... ANYWHERE IN THE USA. We MUST change this. So tragic 😥

As an only child, and still am one. My dad was very over protective and still is even tho im 27 he wouldnt let me walk to the bus stop by myself in high school even tho it was down the street, i couldnt go anywhere without a cousin or friend with me . And now im anxious, and i dont trust myself when making big decisions. But therapy helps! Michelle was right tho give your kids that small confidence

I have seen some kids walking alone to and from school near where I live. They’ll be competent when they grow older. It is a safe neighborhood.
