Ahhh okay. So you're saying that it doesn't dry at all? Does it feel wet and cold to the touch? If so, your hair is over-moisturised. You're using too much or too many products. Did you happen to catch my video on medium porosity hair? Even if your hair is not medium porosity, I think the video will help you learn how to avoid over-moisturised hair.

I love each and every video of yours! They are so informative and inspiring!❤❤❤❤ I usually used to do smoothening in every 8-10 months gap, because i had the most freezy and annoying hair, but after watching your video I realised that maybe I had the most beautiful wavy hair, which I have ruined because of the inadequate knowledge about it! So I already had done some bad things (chemical treatments) with my hair as a result of my ignorance,so now I have decided to quit that, I will follow that CGM routine.. last time I have done smoothening in September 2022, so I got a descent regrowth by this last 1 year, and last week I have 3/4th length of my "smoothened hair" chopped off my by my own! But still there are 1/4th s left along with my own originally wavy textured hair from the root which have been regrown in this last 12 months! I couldn't chop off the whole smoothened part of my hair because of the length issue, if I did that my hair could have been way shorter than the usual length I keep.. now my question is "can I start that CGM routine in these mixed textured hair of mine? Will it work on the chemically smoothened/straightened part of my hair length? If yes, can you please suggest to me one product with which I can start off my journey considering my hair situation?" Please reply...🙏

- Cutting off the chemically treated her is the best option - you will have to work on bond repair to bring out your natural structure - Olaplex, Redken are internationally well known brands for bond repair but are pretty expensive - Minimalist also has a similar dupe, works decently but not as good as Olaplex or Redken - You will have to focus on undoing the chemical treatment effects, CGM is not necessarily the only way to do this - Undoing chemical damage to hair is a long and expensive process, cutting the hair off is the quickest and cheapest option - you can start very slowly adopting CGM methods, but not necessarily the entire routine. I mean you can start with not using heat on hair, start diffusing, using a leave in conditioner and gel, you don't necessarily have to use CGM friendly products only, you can transition to CGM or not YMMV

This happens to me too. Not on my front sections but to the sections above my ears. For some reason the curl definition does not want to stay no matter what I do. Try my dry refresh technique instead. You won't need any water. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGG6lItuoZKEjdk

Hi Michelle. Your videos are great and help all out there who are new to CGM and have zero idea on where to start and how to do. But I have a doubt, with all the steps in the shower and out side .. my question is.. despite the steps of scrunching and twisting and applying the mask, you’re naturally dried out hair without styling looks poofy.. so do those steps like twisting and scrunching really help towards it? Bcos from the video what I gathered is what actually mattered is the styling after the shower to achieve curls.
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 11 ай бұрын
Every step in the routine makes a huge difference in the definition of the waves seen in the final results. The steps you're referring to are methods of curl training. These are important and crucial for wavy hair.

Heyy Michelle♥! How to tackle those annoying flyaways while styling wavy hair?
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 11 ай бұрын
Hey Ritz. Thanks for asking. When I style on damp hair, I notice more flyaways. This is exactly why I like to style on sopping wet hair. I spritz my hair down with water before I start styling. I also comb through to smooth down the hair before I apply products. When I apply products if I see that my hair is sticking up or not smoothed together, I go in with a raking technique and also comb through again. While my hair is being styled I make sure to keep spritzing it with water. I comb and smooth when needed. Does this answer your question? Or not, is there any key moment of your styling routine when you notice the flyaways?

Another wonderful video with clear explanation! Although I'm not a beginner I loved watching this video. Michelle I recently chopped my hair off from long to medium length. I had a lot of split ends and damage. I now have haircut shock so I'm just riding the wave patiently until my waves remember how to wave/clump together. Any tips on dealing with haircut shock? I realised I need to trim my ends every 4-6 months otherwise split ends form and then I need a drastic haircut. (For reference I'm 2A, some 2B, super low porosity - the curly hair stylist also commented how long my hair takes to dry, low to medium density wavy hair/loose waves)
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 11 ай бұрын
Yes yes yes. Curl shock. I just experienced it too. Within the last 2-3 weeks. It's so upsetting. It leaves you with so much doubt and fear. Like will my curls come back? Have I lost them for good? What did I do? Why did I do it? Let me make a short form video on this. Soon soon soon. I have so much content pending. Arghhhhhh! I can't move at the pace that social media dictates. These edits take so much time and effort. :(

@@MichelleManuel Yes my hair has become so straight I worry whether it'll wave up again. The good thing is I've had haircut shock before and I got my waves back after a month of the cut. So I just need to be patient. I know it'll come back. I had to cut out the damage because the damage was causing massive tangles, hair loss and stringy waves. Sigh. Don't move at others pace, move at your own pace. Quality content takes time and effort. So no rush 🤗

@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 11 ай бұрын
You can air dry if you don't have a diffuser. It's understandable. Diffusers are expensive. I personally used to air dry before I bought one. Sit in the sun if you're air drying. We don't want to keep the hair wet for long periods of time. So if you have a balcony or sunny window, make yourself comfortable in or around it while you air dry.

@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 11 ай бұрын
If you're following cg, colour is not allowed. That being said, I do in fact colour my hair. I colour my roots every 10 days because they grow out very very quickly. I also colour my lengths once every 1.5 to 2 years when I want a change. To achieve some colors, bleach is not required. A dark brown colour can be achieved without bleaching. However if you're trying to go lighter, there will be bleach. Hair colouring involves some form of damage, ranging from mild to severe. It would be hypocritical of me to tell you that you shouldn't do it, when I most definitely do it. So maybe I shouldn't say anything here.

You need to nail your moisture levels. I think this will be your main struggle. Once you are able to nail this and curl train you won't have these issues. Check out my video on medium porosity hair. You'll understand this concept better.

@@sruthilaya8898 what Michelle said is absolutely right about getting the correct level of moisture. I face the same issue. Especially if you are living in a rainy place, it's tricky. Also, the styling doesn't stay the next day if the curls aren't protected while sleeping. This is jus my personal observation. Michelle is the best person to guide you in this. She inspired me to try CGM ❤️

Unfortunately, the scalp becomes more visible when the curls are defined. :( I think the bowl method might be more suitable for you. I recently did a video on it sharing my take.

You didn’t use the conditioner,you used hairmask . Why?
@MichelleManuel

Because I have medium porosity hair now. It needs less moisture than it did before. I can't use both products together. It will over-moisturise my hair.

It's probably because of curl transition. If you're interested, check out my playlist on CGM transition tip and motivation. You'll find my best advice there. Also follow a good night routine please.
