Ever since I moved out of Michigan 14 years ago my vehicles have never been cleaner. No rust and no rust proofing. Down south trucks cost the same except rust free. So sad that so many vehicles have succumb to the road Salt.

It's helps but being a landscape\plow truck with a salt spreader in the back of it is literally holding and spreading the corrosive rock salt for half the year out in the slushy snow. It really sucks what it does to our vehicles up here!

A good clean around that ring with some WD40 and an impact with that fancy tool may have got it broken free or destroyed it completely. No loss really since you ended up scrapping the whole thing anyways. Those are some big pliers, look more like channel locks to me.

S&B tanks are nice, but what a rusty filthy mess changing that one! What’s everyone do with the OEM tanks they replace? I have a 34 gal SD tank that’s like new condition taking up space in my garage.

Vacuum up all that rust flakes and soak with PB Blaster, then gently tap with your air chisel.

Diesel fuel has 3 colors. Clear/yellowish: over the road vehicles, taxed. Green: biodiesel, taxed at a reduced rate. Red: off-road equipment (tractors) non-taxable. NOTE: The penalties for using red diesel in your vehicle are severe!
