If the four team playoff was still in use, Ohio State would be out of the championship picture, headed for the Raisin Bran Bowl or some similar game , and Ryan Day would be gone. But things are different now. OSU has talent. They will make the 12 team field and could still win it all. I think the only way Ryan Day might lose his job is if OSU is blown out in the first playoff round.

Watching the game it felt like ryan day and Chip Kelly were hell bent on running the ball up the middle, trying to prove that they were the tougher team; But Michigan lives and breathes toughness! Like Ohio State really tried to out play them at Michigan's bread and butter. It was baffling. Ohio state should have been pass happy all day.

I think it's fascinating that the narrative around this game was that Ohio State wasn't as physical as Michigan. While that's true to an extent, its not the whole story. Ohio State didn't *have* to be as physical- their short to midrange passing game was working great- just check out that 2-minute drive they ran at the end of the half. But, Ryan day decided that he had to make a point by trying to out-physical Michigan by going at their strength, the interior defensive line, and that was the one place where Michigan could press an advantage against them. The toughness thing is so stuck on Ryan Day's head that he got suckered into playing right into Michigan's hand.

As much as I agree.. eventually this will not be the case. If he ends up still winning all other B10 games in the future but he goes 1-10 against Michigan he will be out. You just can’t keep losing THAT game at OSU.. same goes for Michigan and thats why Harbaugh was almost ran out of town despite averaging around 10 wins a season when before him Michigan was averaging like 6-7 wins.
