This series of videos is spot on for what I think Michigan deer camp is all about. Jake I feel for ya brother and I'd say you have some patience with all these mishaps cause when it comes down to it I don't care if that gun was mine or borrowed I'd of threw it right out of the tree and never went to look for it. Laughing...... It happens and it makes us stronger as hunter's cause what would hunting be if everything was easy. Alvin, every deer season I love to sit in the tree and just give thanks for everything I experienced in life and for those fellow hunter's that have left us already and it gives me a sense of appreciation for being able to do the things we love to do and that's why deer season brings most of us back to what's real. Looks like you guys did really well this past season and that is pretty awesome. Can't wait for the next one to drop. Be safe out there fellas.

Way down here in North Carolina,,I’ve had several rifles to freeze up and not shoot in the moment of truth ,,one was a Winchester model 88 ,,308 ,, the buck that walked off from me looked like the one that walked off from Charlie. Now I have several that won’t freeze up and use those to deer hunt ,,a blind helps a lot.

Sounds to me like you had moisture in the trigger assembly and it froze up. Instead of hanging in the tree keep the action of the rifle covered in your lap to take advantage of your body heat. Just a suggestion.

Might want to do some additional editing next time? I noticed a lack of hunter orange being worn in the blinds (dumb law though), and a screw-in step being used as a gun hanger (i assume on private land, since thats legal). Just helping ya watch out for the DNR!
