I couldn't ever spend that kind of money on a hang and hunt stand. For my money nothing beats my little m7 micro lite by millennium. It's awesome I replaced the ratchet strap with a cam buckle strap on the slide in tree bracket for hanging it. I don't think anyone's gonna beat that as far as being super easy to hang the stand. I'm good to go for life when it comes to tree hunting options. My sticks, stand, saddle, platform, ROS, and 16 Cranford Deluxe Screw In Steps, cost around 700 bucks. Paying that kind of money for one stand is absolutely crazy just my opinion

The big issue for me, You're buying the name for an extra 400 dollars. Seriously, I can buy 3 xop vanish for 40 dollars more than a single Beast stand. I'm a fan of Dan Infalt, but I'm a simple Bow Hunter. Price matters, and the cheap straps is an aggravating addition to a premium priced unit that doesn't stand up to premium scrutiny.

Wanted to relay a story about a friend of mine from years ago. He worked on radio towers back in the day (30 years ago). We were talking about the height factor and working on the towers. He stated that the towers sway back and forth at the top. I asked him if he feared the swaying while hundreds of feet in the air. His response was that the sway is normal and a good thing. He noted that if the tower didn't sway, being too stiff/brittle, it would snap/collapse. I believe the same principal is with the stand. The platform is made from a single piece of aluminum which is supposed to flex to avoid cracking/snapping the platform. I am 260 lbs with all my gear and also a healthy fear of heights. I look at the flex as something that keeps me safe, rather have the flex than have a failure of the platform. I am still a little fearful of the heights but will keep this stand. Plan on saddle hunting with it this next year. my 2 cents.
@MichiganGreatOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely and I agree, however since Ive tested most of the machine aluminum stands on the market, this one flexes by far the most. Not like its gonna snap, but for larger guys its an strange feeling.

Dan Infalt, with gear, has GOT to be pushing 250#, 275#. No way to justify making a stand that could barely support its designer on a winter hunt with extra weight and bulk, and costs like $200 more than the next guy’s stand that can DEFINITELY hold another 25+ pounds worth of “beast mode”. If you can’t hunt out of a $60 Walmart hang-on or a $200 Novix on the high end, you very likely WON’T see MORE success just because your beast stand is 3# lighter (without straps mind you) and a few inches longer. If you can see past the fact that a BIG GUY makes a stand that’s NOT for BIG GUYS and charges 3x what a traditional high-end treestand with more features charges, then you are as vision-forward as a mole. I hope your $5K worth of treestand gear helps you “beast” a deer real beasty-like. My tree setup cost just under $1000 and I spared no expense on quality.

625 is too expensive... The 1.0 has a higher weight rating and many more features such as tie-downs in the platform, a pack frame feature, a place for a pull-up rope, a place to hang a backpack, a bow holder in the platform, much nicer backpack straps..... and it's a hundred bucks cheaper and a single pound heavier... The value just isn't there... Don't apologize for feeling that way. You provided an honest assessment of a product on the market, and you aren't off base in your critique. Nothing you said was in any way inaccurate, and you demonstrated the basis for your criticism as well. Information and feedback like that is why I come to your channel. I expect the stand's design to change some. The LWCG stands certainly have. When a product hits the market, a good manufacturer will listen to feedback and improve its product. LWCG did. All the issues they had at the onset are gone and they make a quality product at this point. Although they still underrate the weight of their sticks on their site. IDK why they continue to understate the weight by 20% but they do. With that said though, I think the 1.0 is the best overall stand in the world right now. Some would say it's the .5... But LWCG wins regardless. But they've also had 2 years of market testing to refine the design. Hopefully, HB's products evolve the same way. Right now, that stand doesn't live up to its price tag. I hear you on the bow every year point too..... I'm still shooting my 2015 Bear and I can tell you, the deer don't notice the difference. People who buy a new bow every year, hey if it makes you happy. But IMHO, that's a huge waste of money.

The purpose of the other cam strap is for more security and to lock the stand in place so it doesn't move like it did in your video. Todd from White Knuckle Productions in KZbin did a great job of how to properly hang a Lonewolf hang on stand. I have LW Assault and was only using one strap in late season archery hunting and the strap actually slipped causing the stand to drop. @@BACKWOODSVET the Novix brand is just a way for Lone Wolf to sale online directly without undercutting their LW dealers. Both the Novix and Lone 32” climbing sticks are exactly the same, as well as the Alpha 2 and Novix Echo, which is a really good stand for shooting behind larger trees. My Assault 2 is a little shorter and more streamlined for hanging in trees with more limbs or toting through thicker areas, and it weighs about a pound less than the Alpha2/Echo. Larger guys with bigger feet will prefer that stand since it’s also longer. They sell feet rests for it but the best thing you can do is replace the seat by cutting down a kneeling pad you can find in Lowe’s or Home Depot lawn care. The Lone Wolf seats are just too firm and a little thin. I doubt many of us carry the sticks like they suggest. Check out Traditional Bowhunting and wilderness podcast for his method of toting sticks on the stand. Thank you for your service!

Perhaps I missed it in the video and comments as I read quite a bit of them. But the price range as steep as it is, I believe is primarily that it is completely American made. I know from talking to Dan once that he does not like to have stuff made from China. I haven't researched all his stuff to see if that's entirely true though I do believe it to be. But if it's all American made material,. that would go a long way into understanding the cost. That also being said, I have an entire saddle set up for hunting. With the linemans rope, tether, saddle, 2 pouches, 2 ropeman 1s, multiple caribiners, and of course a platform, and absolutely it cost me as much as this stand did for everything to saddle hunt efficiently. Incidentally the weight of all that I just mentioned is equal to Dan's stand. I'm not saying the stand is a perfect 10 as I have not used it myself and from my experience there is no perfect 10. But I do think there are logical explanations specifically when it comes to price points and you are paying some for sure for it being the lightest stand on the market. A very thorough review though and I checked out a couple others as well and within 2 minutes I had the answer on your review that got me investigating in the first place. Thanks for the unbias perspective. Hopefully I get to see how accurate you where with your review based on my own experience soon. lol

I love Dan, but I stood on that stand at DeerFest and it isn't for me.... and just 3 weeks ago i was installing my Beast stick minis going up a tree, which are stealth stripped by the way, and my rubber boot scuffed the top step of the stick and made a ringing noise and alerted a bedded public land doe to my presence. That is the 2nd time it has happened, but only cost me a deer this one time as far as i know. It came out 1 hour early and stood for about a minute scanning, circled behind me and then out in the field kept staring towards my tree trying to figure out what it was. It just couldn't let go of that ringing sound. 10 minutes later another doe showed up and they left together.

From what I read, stand makers like Lone Wolf, LWCG, and The Beast rate their stands about half of what they can actually hold just to be safe and the stands don’t fail based on someone’s weight. I’m pretty sure I actually read this on Tethrd’s website or in an email or something. I think The Beast stand is absolutely the best made one by far. The new LWCG is looking great too but I haven’t tried them yet.

Its super expensive stand. Too much in my opinion
@jgartrell36873 жыл бұрын
My initial reaction to the price was a resounding F-That but when I sat down and did the math. I was previously buying presets at $100-150 a pop and they were steel and on public which means they rust and get stolen. These premium stands are more expensive but I believe in the long run I’ll come out ahead even if I only use it 6-8 years. I don’t think we should pretend you can’t kill a deer without it but It’s also silly to bash guys that do find the price justifiable. I do believe a nice set of straps with a waist belt should be included at that price point.
@MichiganGreatOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, for $625 its kinda a shame that there not including a nicer seat or decent back pack straps. I think your better off buying a 1.0 or .5 because they are cheaper and provide the nice straps.
@dank55803 жыл бұрын
I think Dan honestly tried to test this stand out as best as possible and not just throw it out on the market to make a buck. However it's hard to beat the knowledge and information gained from the sample size lone wolf has. Having lab testing and a few people in running it for a season isn't comparable to having a diverse group of people running a system for years. I honestly would be shocked if his 1st stand was perfect. That's why I ended getting a custom gear .5. Tho it's not necessarily perfect I have always felt safe in the stand and the way to locks to the tree deft is pretty well figured out at this point. These items are expensive and with out seeing them in person it's helpful to have these kinds of reviews. I have tried to do the same showing some of the pros and cons of my .5 stand. I also like your point about the stand price can only go up if they are going to improve it. Interested to see what happends with the next model stand if it comes out.
@MichiganGreatOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Dank, thanks for the thoughtful response, I agree too. I think he developed the stand to fit it his niche and to fit him personally and I think its a good first model, it just needs to be tweaked in my opinion. Im also not saying I know everything or that my opinion even matters but thats what I do on this channel is share my opinion. At the end of the day hes going up against LWCG who has decades of tree stand designing experience. I too have the .5 stand and for me and how I hunt its damn hard to beat. I cant hang it silently and most importantly it hardly flexes at all and locks to the tree with a minimal toe hook. The beast stand might be more comfortable to sit in but for me a stander ill just stick with my .5 this season. Good luck in your hunting this year!
@dank55803 жыл бұрын
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors Yup I agree with everything you said. But my question for you is being a bigger guy how is your butt feel on that .5 seat! I'm 511 180 and I had to make an extra seat cushion to support me but even still it's just to small. I know people tried to buy the 1.0 stand seat from lone wolf to put on it but they said they couldn't do it because of liability issues, maybe so people dont use as saddle platforms I'm guessing? I don't mind the small platform but damn that seat is just to damn small!

My LW Alpha 2/Novix Echo is a full 30” long, and both it and my Assault 2 are both wider than the Beast stand at 19.5”. Another thing about my stands is that they both have a spot for my compound, so no bow holder required with no holes to step in lol. In my opinion, with both the LWCG and Beast stands you’re not necessarily getting better stands. They’re just lighter, smaller, trendy stands that cost more than any stand I’d want to leave in the woods overnight. Soldiers and backpack campers carry all kinds of weight for hours at a time. Why can’t grown men bow hunters tote a 20 lb rig of stand and sticks? I realize guys are carrying camera gear and everything but the kitchen sink in their pack, but I just don’t see how a 11 lb stand is a deal breaker. As I’ve said before, all this proves it’s hard to improve on the Assault 2. Reminds me of how Summit has found it hard to improve on their climbers for years now.

I actually enjoy watching this man's reviews. I'm gonna agree 100 with the price. I'm a huge D Infalt supporter and from what I've watched over the year's Dan has come off as a hard working man. He doesn't seem like a top shelf reaching must have the best of the best champagne wallet LOOK AT ME kind of guy. So it kinda baffled me when I seen the price of his stand. I was thinking when I heard a few year's back. That this stand was in the testing phase. That this stand was gonna be that HUGE BIG NAME hunter's stand with a working class price tag. But this is the society we live in now. Big price tag means EVERYONE clammers to get one. So they can show off how stupid they are with their money. But that's not what people think of. PEOPLE THINK A BIG PRICE TAG MEANS BIG SOCIAL STATUS. It's kinda like everyone running out to spend $600 on an arc'teryx rain jacket. BECAUSE PEOPLE PUT MONEY IN FRONT OF MORALS NOWADAYS. Please don't get me wrong TROLLS this is an AWESOME STAND but $700 after shipping. SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT IT.

One of the videos where Dan and Mario are talking about what went into designing the beast stand he says “he would sell it for less if he could “. I don’t personally think he’s trying rip people off by over charging for it. You typically pay more for high quality items made in USA by small companies like his. That said it’s not for everyone but it is what I would call a one time purchase that will be used for many years.

I’m 6’4” 280 and I’ve been using climbers for the last 10 or so years, haven’t always been 280 though lol but I’ve been tossing around the different possibilities of saddles, stands, sticks.. and for me, the rigidity of a product is priority way over weight, I can carry a 30lb climber and my bow and gear through Vietnam for miles, that’s not the issue.. with that being said, I’m gonna sift through your other videos for reviews on stuff.. coming from a fellow Michigan hunter 👍🏼

This was probably the worst review of the beast stand, not hard to tell you're a LWCG fanboy. I have watched tons of reviews on this stand and no one had the list of complaints you did. Like I always say to people that cry about the cost of hunting, maybe you shouldn't hunt and spend that money elsewhere if things are that tight for you. Dan is a R&D machinist by trade and prototyped stands for 4 yrs before he put the beast stand on the market. So I trust his work and the intensity it took to produce the best stand on the market, I just ordered a stand and set of sticks, and hope I don't pass anyone in the woods to "show off" my stand!! 😅😅😅
@MichiganGreatOutdoors Жыл бұрын
First off thanks for stopping by to watch the video. Secondly Im gonna go out on a limb to say you're a big Dan Infalt fan? Well I am too, I have been since 2018 when I found the hunting beast. I was once in that brain washed state of mind where I thought Beast gear was the only way to go. When you spend all your time all your time watching hunting beast and Dan that can happen. I learned over time that I was extremely biased over Dan, I was in the same boat. I loved watching Dan and I thought beast gear was the best gear on the planet. I have bent no less than 6 beast sticks over the years and I have to ask my self why? They just kept replacing them and never offering any sort of explanation as to why. After the 6th stick I was done. I traded them off. Then one day I decided to not be so biased on Beast Gear and go and try some other brands. What I found after testing at least 5 or 6 other mobile hunting stands is that there are just better options out there. It's a nice stand, I surely mentioned that in the video several times. It's lacking in many areas of key features that a LWCG or Novix stand do a lot better. Ive tried darn near all the stands on the market and the Beast gear stand just doesn't measure up for bigger guys, it doesn't bite as good on the tree as some other stands do, It makes noise which other stands dont and its only rated for 275 which leaves a lot of big guys out. I have a lot of respect for Dan and the crew, I watch every hunting beast video but unfortunately this one just didn't pass the test for me and there are better options out there currently on the market. Also Ive never hated on anyone who runs a beast gear stand. At the end of the day were all out there to kill deer. p.s. I did end up getting no hole beast sticks and they stopped bending on me. I run them when I saddle hunt. I have a video on my page on those as well. Thanks.

Nice honest review. But I don't get all the complaining about the price. If you don't want to spend the money don't and move on. The stand does have some flex and I think that is why they rated at 275. He said they are gonna come out with a heavier version for the big guys. So if you are bigger and want something stiffer from the beast it is gonna be alittle bit. I like the stand myself fits what I want it to be perfectly.
@MichiganGreatOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
People complain about the price because you can get several other stands for much less and work just as good. Sorry I never heard they were gonna come out with a heavier version. I have a lwcg .5 and it has about 75% less flex. So its more ideal for me.
