Mr. Kent gets what so many reactors and critics seem to miss. Maybe he has a an ear for music many don't. She takes a stunningly clear and powerful voice and lovingly crafts each note like a fine wine, then deliverers it like a puff of smoke effortlessly as if she is singing only for the youthful joy of singing itself. Now 18 with the 8th album "The Great American Song Book" She'll again amaze delivering the contemporary songs of Broadway and Hollywood musicals, like no other voice of her generation can. The buzz from the NYC studio's was electric, that from the many Grammy winners she worked with.

As this little girl has grown her voice has deepened and mellowed, which is of course normal. She is now better suited to the crossover genre and is adored by millions. She is either hated by a few or adored by millions.

One of the things I find most amazing about the full video of this with Sharon Osbourne is the transition from a cute little girl in the interview to a mature, emotive singer for the song.

At the time of this video, Jackie had a vocal coach, so..... She stopped a year later, but she had a coach prior to and beyond agt and her guest appearance on bgt the next year.

The only vocal coaching Jackie had was from Yvie Burnett on AGT, as required for the duration of the show, and by her mother from that point on, not a vocal coach but a musician. Many assume Jackie has had voice training, but following AGT she and her parents rejected classical/opera training for fear of it destroying the signature pure tone quality of her voice. At age 18, when recording The Debut, she discovered her pop voice and then sought renown vocal coach/therapist, Joan Lader, who helped her develop "the other side of my voice", as she put it. She competed on The Masked Singer as "Kitty" in January/February 2020 (age 19) and demonstrated her versatility in pop, country, pop ballads, Broadway and jazz.

My favorite song by Jackie...hope someday she will sing it again. BTW she is now 19 years old and just released an album of Broadway songs called *The Debut*. The power, the grace the smoothness is all there after eight albums (eight!).

Gorgeous performance of a gorgeous song. Someone once electronically analyzed Jackie's voice at this age and found it to be the "perfect operatic voice." On an oscilloscope, her voice shows a smooth sine wave with no overtones. He said it was a "once in a generation" phenomenon. BTW, this song was from Ennio Morricone's score to "The Mission." In the score, it was an instrumental piece called, "Gabriel's Oboe." For years, Sarah Brightman tried to get Morricone's permission to set the song to lyrics in Italian. He finally gave the OK, and it was the song which supercharged her career as a crossover artist. Jackie said that Sarah was her idol. You need to get hold of her concert videos. Especially "Dream with Me" by David Foster. Yes, David Foster produced an album and Concert video for a 10 year old little girl. That is how good she is. And, she is seventeen now and a beautiful and beautifully talented teenager.

I know it's been a long time ago but please find Jackie's version of Lovers from the movie House of the Flying Daggers from great performances. She should be about 11 at that time. The final note she hits in the end, I didn't know it was humanly possible. Never heard anything like that not before nor after.

If you review any other song by Jackie it should be "Lovers" from her first studio album Dream With Me. Absolutely unbelievable for a then 11 year old. You are correct regarding her control in her singing. Usually little kids are unable to keep a smooth transition from one note to another. There is usually a pause or a break when doing so but with Jackie, there is none. That is why I listen to her and the only kid I have listened to.

Here she is now 17 past the voice change (Breath hold) doing Caruso for PBS, not many even try this piece of music because of its difficulty. She can seemingly take any long forgotten classic and make it , listenable and likable some how. Soft and feminine hiding an amazing control and power. We have years of amazing to go. She is off to Juilliard, to be polished by the pro's. And MK was right she did turn out to be a looker as well. You were right she grew up a lovely and bright young women. The multi Platinum, multi Millionaire worked straight thru to 18 and dumped Sony on her birthday to become the President and CEO of 2 corporations and a foundation operating under her own label, "The Debut" is her 8th #1 Billboard Classical LP in a row! I really hate sound engineers. You have one of the most beautiful, Crystal voices on the planet and they crank in so much reverb they make her sound like she's singing in the bottom of a well. I wish they would just tone it down and let us enjoy Jackies pure beautiful voice without mucking it up.
