Mick Beale exclusive interview: Rangers 'not as broken as people think' | Why I left QPR

New Rangers manager Mick Beale spoke with Sky Sports News about taking the job, why he left QPR, injury issues and how he will be doing things differently to Steven Gerrard and Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The 42-year-old completed his move from QPR, where he took charge less than six months ago, and replaces Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who was sacked last week.
Beale - who has maintained good relations with Rangers since his departure as coach last November - will be joined by coaches Damian Matthew, Harry Watling and Neil Banfield, with further appointments expected.

As a qpr fan im not suprised. He looked lost in his last 4/5 games. I didnt see him lasting the season. Bad move for him i think and doubt he will succeed at a club like Rangers. But money talks and theres no loyalty in modern football its all words no substance. Loyalty and integrity he said a few weeks ago LOL. Could have at least finished the season, but he could see it was going wrong and took the easy way out. Rarely will Ranges be in a position to get someone who has quite literally had the ideal preparation for this role. 10 years at Chelsea, 6 at Liverpool, a couple in Brazil and 3 and a half at Ranges where he was part of management who inherited a 3rd rate Rangers and when he left they were current champions with a 4 point lead and 9 or 10 Old firm unbeaten record. He also done well with Gerrard at Villa climbing out bottom 4 or 5 to mid table when he left, then at QPR he left them at joint 6th after they finished 11th and that was after a bad run that coincided with the offer from Wolves that could have had a bearing on team’s performance. Gerrard and Souness both became the Manager with far less experience and done well. If Rangers were to finish 9 points behind Celtic then they would have collected the same points as Celtic over a 23 game period which would be progress, to expect Rangers to be able to compete for the title for me is a big ask and they need to win on 2nd January and the 3 games leading into it to have any glimmer of hope. I’m glad we have made this decision at this stage giving Beale 2 windows to get us ready to compete realistically for next seasons league title.
