I was an early teenager that eventually followed ECW all over North East Pennsylvania. It all started in a little historic town called Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania. I was born and raised 15 minutes away. In 1995 and 1996 ECW ran monthly shows at a place called Flagstaff in Jim Thorpe Pa. My mom would let me take off of school and I would get there before noon on a Friday and wait for the wrestlers to show up. I've seen many any spent some time with a few before the shows. I was later fortunate to help set up rings, do lights at the Arena in Philly and so much more cool stuff. Out of all of that, one of the things I remember the most about Mick outside of the ring is him coming to the show early, a handful of us waiting outside before the show in Jim Thorpe and he gave us the most genuine thank you for coming out that you'd ever hear. A heartfelt and appreciative thank you. That always stuck with me... That was before the anti-ECW era and that's just one small reason fans respect Mick the way they do. Love the pod fellas! 👈🏻💥💥👉🏻 bang bang

The Cactus Jack debut is one of my favorite debuts (technically, it is a debut) ever and one of my favorite wresting moments, of all time. You can go back now and watch the whole thing and see the genius of Mick Foley and appreciate it even more. You honestly thought Jack was the most sadistic even though Mankind seemed like a murderer himself. Awesome stuff.

I like to think Cactus went insane and Paul Bearer got him out of an asylum as Mankind. Mankind becomes delusional and reverts to a past idealized self in the Dude. Dude's struggles brings back Cactus as a defense mechanism. Mick is tormented by the three faces of Foley until he finds a way to combine them into Commissioner Foley.

You are so right on the cursive Mick. As a former business teacher at the High school level, it was so hard to get kids to write a coherent letter using good English and grammar much less get them to write it out long hand. It was not really done and this was in the 2000's

@@account_suspended I would dearly love to see you try your hand at teaching in this day and age. In Austin's book from 2003 he mentions his SummerSlam conversation with Owen. I'm paraphrasing but there was a back and forth when it came the pile driver spot Austin saying "drop on your knees" and Owen saying "on my butt". Austin being clear he wanted Owen to drop on his knees.
@Rschr101 Жыл бұрын
Owen the prankster, also supposedly a master technician in the ring. I'll always believe it was a rib gone wrong, Owen knew what he was doing when he dropped Steve on his head. I dont think Owen knew it would nearly kill Austin but he definitely purposely dropped him on his head. No doubt. Why else wouldnt he apologize?
@Dirtydeff2 жыл бұрын
Steve, Bret, and JR say that Owen never called to apologize. Bret said that Owen told him he needed to reach out but never did

Its well known Owen never apologized. Revisionist history tries to paint Owen in a better light because of his tragic death, but I think he knew what he was doing when he spiked Steve in his head. I dont think he thought it would nearly paralyze Austin, seemed like a rib gone wrong. Owen the prankster.

Clash at the Castle should have been Roman vs Drew vs Sheamus in a two fall match. The first fall, for the Universal championship, Roman pins Sheamus and retains the title he’s had for two plus years. The second fall, for the WWE championship, Drew pins Sheamus. Now Raw has it’s champion back. Roman keeps his long reign without being beaten. The crowd goes home happy. The IC title gets defended against Ridge Holland or Shinske or Mad Cap or somebody.

Why didn't Steve Mongo McMichael never go to WWF/WWE as the last time I watched him on any WCW TV he was covered in brown water from a bucket by Hollywood Hogan and the 4 horseman disbanded, really he was never Dean Melenko but he had a look and a charm to him that surprised me he didn't go elsewhere similar to Eric Embray I was surprised never went to WWF especially when USWA had some talent swapping
