Mick had heart valve replacement surgery in New York. I believe it was in 2019-2020. Aortic stenosis, calcified heart valve. Mick Jagger suffered from aortic stenosis, which is a narrow heart valve. The aortic valve is responsible for managing blood flow through the heart to the rest of the body. Jagger’s aortic valve was calcified which limits its ability to open-and-close. I love The Rolling Stones and I still listen to them. It amazes me that Mick can still dance and move around after having heart valve replacement surgery.

@@levondarratt787 Actually, due to earlier influence of Indian immigrants/yoga practitioners in the latter 19th century into the early 20th century, by the 1930's the more modern-day yoga exercise practices started being implemented U.S. health, bodybuilding magazines, as well as by many exercise teachers in classes. Starting in the '60's, Americans like Richard Hittleman used television, books, lectures, etc. to teach many Americans how to do yoga; he was very popular. In addition, the hippie counterculture, New Age movement, and others, helped spread this practice dramatically by the late '60's, so by the "80's, when VHS and the whole workout movement exploded, yoga was well implemented and alive in America. Yoga in our country has been around for far longer than many people think.

@@levondarratt787 yes, actually, from 1977 to 79, I was in a nursing program and had a book by Richard Hittleman, called the 30 day exercise plan, and I read it and taught myself at home. Several years ago, I found a new edition of it, in larger print and pictures.,I still have that one. I just learned how to use the internet a couple years ago, and looked up Richard. He'd actually studied in India, and had unfortunately died of prostate cancer at a fairly young age. His wife was still teaching. He also wrote one on meditation.,you can probably find copies on the internet. They were teaching in Calif. at the time I had read the book. It just hadn't swept the nation I guess., I later took Kundalini yoga at a college. Yoga's been around for thousands of years, like in India, so I think it began in the 60's, probably with the hippie movement. Along with meditation and stuff., Yogananda brought meditation to the U.S., I believe in the 40's and sold out to packed houses! Pretty incredible!

I'm 1 year older than Mick Jagger. I play in 3 rock bands in Prague, I probably do more gigs than him, I have a few beers, I live alone, I'm still very interested in girls, I travel a lot and I don't feel that I'm special in any way. I'm not a static performer. I do mild daily exercise and wouldn't be seen dead in McDonalds, I eat porridge for breakfast, toast and fruit. Personal trainer - pretentious crap I watch two US kids (gym trainers) on the computer and copy their movements.

Recently I was diagnosed with hepatic steatosis. Along with high glucose levels (pre diabetic) creates not a good combination.. I decided to make some changes in my lifestyle: I started to cut bad carbs and alcohol and engaging myself eating the right type of food (proteins, vegetables, fermented milk products and good oils) with regular exercise and it starting to work: No more “heaviness”, less arthritis pains (almost none, actually). I am going to wait for a couple of more months of doing it right way, and do another liver ultrasound and hopefully see the improvement. Many people have recovered from similar condition. Good genes is helpful too. But determination is even more important. Mick Jagger caught it on time. Good for him!

One thing he doesn't have that most of us his age do, is financial stress. I do wonder how many hours a day he spends working out, meditating, etc. Looks like it would take a lot of time but good for Mick to do it all. (He's 2 months older than me, by the way so I remember him when he was just a kid starting out.)

Rubbish. Financial stress comes both ways. More money = More trouble. Life isn’t a lot easier just because you are rich. Sometimes it’s the exact opposite.

I think the authors just made up Jagger's diet and other health practices--it all sounded too "pat" to me. Sounded like they just listed their own opinion on what was healthy to eat and do. I doubt they ever talked to Jagger about iit.

It is nice that Mr. Jagger never had to work a job that required physical labor, like building houses, or roads, or putting a roof on a house. He was lucky, lucky enough to fall into being a rock star, and good on that, one in a million thing. Just sayin.

My old b.friend was the keyboard specialist (perfect pitch) & sound for Chicago for nearly 20 yrs, then worked with Prince. Yeah, they get time off, but when they work it's 24/7. They bust their tails from band to roadies, especially on tour, which at one point was 2 yrs straight. Myself, I get the physical labor - everything from ranching to remodeling to nursing. I wouldn't have wanted my X's career.
