I am good friends withs with David Pellitier the Stones lighting guy for the 72 STP tour and he said the temperatures on stage were about 118-130 F . Yes it was vitamins and salt otherwise you could pass out.Thats why they have buckets of seat pouring out of them.

He can come off a little arrogant and aloof but that's part of the job description. Almost all front men are self absorbed or went through a heavy ego phase

Cavett is such a drab interviewer. No flair no excitement. No personality imo. 😊

Too bad you weren't around then. Dick Cavett is the best and possibly the wittiest TV talk show host ever. In the latter category, only Steve Allen, creator and first host of The Tonight Show, might have given him competition. If it's still on the channel, watch his show with Gore Vidal and Norman Mailer. It gave Cavett an opportunity to say one of the funniest things in the history of television. Cavett did what all the best TV talk show hosts did: ask intelligent questions, listen, and steer the conversation intuitively based on the guest's response. With Letterman, whom I was a fan of, the point was the opposite, to have guests on who might give Letterman something to make a joke of.

That’s the point. All substance, no cheap tricks or over the top bs. Just real questions and real conversations. This isn’t a great forum for him though, he should’ve done an actual sit down with him.
