Jagger and Richards adopted the nickname "The Glimmer Twins" after a vacation cruise they took to Brazil in December 1968/January 1969 with their then-girlfriends, Marianne Faithfull and Anita Pallenberg. An older English couple on the ship kept asking Richards and Jagger who they were. When they refused to reveal their identities, the woman reportedly kept asking, "just give us a glimmer" (as in "give us a hint about who you are"), which amused Jagger and Richards

Them two shook up the world and actually contributed to changing it. There vision was immense and together they created the greatest rock n roll band ever and bad as it sounds that once they were freed from worrying bout Brian they got even better .

Where did you read that? Brian didn’t write this or any songs for the Stones? He was instrumental in getting them together and gave them knowledge about music and the blues but as soon as they got signed Mick and Leith took off like bolts of lightning while Brian got worse with addiction and got worse hitting women, it’s sad really but you should read some books about them you will see Brian didn’t really do anything. It was Completely Mick and Keith’s band. Brian was even fearful 😧 f them coz they had the power to sack him and even tell him what to play or even when to turn up, they treated him nasty coz he treated everyone else really it’s why he ended up getting killed in the end and worse thing is no one really cared no friends or exes anyway. All the books are good so any of them you should read. Can’t go round thinking Brian wrote the songs lol

Finding these photos was a fun discovery. I've always heard about their trip to Brazil, after recording Satanic Majesty while being constantly harassed and 'busted' for drugs, which made Satanic a very long album to record. This trip was for them to 'get away' and relax. I understood they heard lots of drums being played while in Brazil, which could very much have inspired Sympathy for the Devil when they returned. Great pics! They look so young, and healthy! - even though I'm certain they weren't always alert....

Had to look up "Pay Your Dues" lyrics...couldn't quite catch them on the video...pretty disturbing lyrics. Rough time for the boys back then. Song writing evolves. It sounds like an early rough version of street fighting man, that they refined at Nelcõte. Where Exile was recorded, and they refined everything. .....masterpiece, in my opinion. Much of their later stuff was refined there. Just held for later release. Stones were / Are brilliant. Love ‘em.
