The story goes that Mick was carrying on with Ikette Claudia Lennear on this tour, but it's equally true that he'd had a crush on Tina for years, hence my original post.

Man, that is so cool. I love the way Tina Turner(?) lights up when she hears him sing the chorus of his new song Brown Sugar (and even Ike[?] puts his arm affectionately round Mick's shoulders).

@@Methilde I can't take the credit. It wasn't me who recorded Robert Johnson. Someone else, about 1969 introduced me to the King of the Delta Blues Singers LP. I recognised the song, but I copied and pasted lyrics someone else transcribed. We're all in this together :-) Keep playing!

Wish Mick had recorded his version of this, as an alternate or an outtake, before Keith Richards touched it. Would have been 2 great versions to listen to. Just like the alternate version of friends by led Zeppelin, with the soulful Indian violin.

It is in open G Tuning. Most of their Guitars is Open G Tuning. Keith plays with the top-low E Sting missing. Ronnie,plays Open G Tuning,too.

Technique is garbage but timing is great. My guitar teacher told me you need two things to be a musician, timing and soul. Mock has both

A lot of people don't understand that Mick wrote Brown Sugar in its entirety. They think Keith wrote the music. In the open G tuning, it's so easy for even a below average guitar player to get into a groove. Obviously Keith added to it with the licks during the chorus and such.
