My first husband loved Mott The Hoople and Ian Hunter. He got me into them. Sadly he passed away 4 years ago at the young age of 56😪. He especially loved this song. Makes me cry every time I listen to it😟.

Can't believe this: A) wasn't a hit when it was released & B) has never been on a soundtrack or covered by another artist. If this song had come from a mainstream artist, this would have been a top 10 hit.

You know what I love most about 'unter ? He has always worn his heart on his sleeve -and he's always lovedR&R. Rock on Ian!❤❤❤🤘😎🤘 Singularly my favorite Artist. Sure,sure, Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Bruce,Petty, yeah, yeah, etc..but Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson never got the recognition they truly deserve.

I had been a fan since 1973 and his days fronting Mott. At 9 years old (1976) I won a radio contest to see "Mott". The offshoot of Mott the Hoople. It was in the Record Plant in Hollywood. I had to have my mom come because I wasn't 18. Lol. I finally got to see two boyhood heroes when I caught Hunter and Ronson on this tour at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. I got to see Hunter again at the Roxy in Hollywood in 2016. He rocked as usual. When he did some Golden Age of Rock and Roll for one of the encores I was in tears. Hunter fucking rocks.

funny, I remember when this came out. for us "bluddy yanks" it's the opposite: all the good music is British!! so many of us had our lives changed by Floyd, Zep, the 'Ooo, Mick & Keef, etc gotta love Ian & Mick Ronson - keepin the dream alive... rock on boys, turn it up

@@petercrowley41 You do realise you're replying to an American, who is nicely showing his appreciation. Are you also implying that anyone into the bands he mentioned is also clueless? Why be so unpleasant?
@petercrowley413 жыл бұрын
@@morganfisherart I've deleted my comment because I didn't intend to hurt anyone's feelings. However, at the time of the British Invasion, few young Americans were aware of the fact that the bands from England were playing what was essentially American Music.

*Nice piece in deed!:* This moderate expressive mood and accentuation is so lovely.. like you are on a boat and swiftly cruising halfway the wavy sea and wind and sun are like the foams you leave behind on the surface of the cool water.. a nice afternoon closing chest into the evening.. the yellowish sun light warms neatly *_foaming!_* your deep blue face where the wind tills it like your boat.. what the wonderful sight of the high blue skies like.. the very some and that same the sea you perfectly scar into jollity and soft intimacy physically and mentally and all emotionally! .. I like this wavy cool warm heart mood. ..

Loved this Album, in 1989.still do. 1st CD I ever bought, American PX Nuremberg-Furth PX. I had a Sony Boombox, and A single CD player Patched in in Aux. you couldn’t tell me shit! I soon bought 135 CD’s in rapid succession. Every hair band, some R and B, some country. I was in the Army. Good times.

I'll tell ya something that is very near & dear to my heart , the first time I walked into the Winterland ballroom in San Francisco in 1973 the vision that greeted me were the Union Jack & Old Glory crossed high above the stage ! This is an impression that is etched in memory some of the best & magical times of my youth were spent in that place & I saw them all even Ian Hunter wish I could of Mick as well ! Truth told American & British bands are the best both together , Cheers !!
