Man it was a tragedy when he left the Stones! I was such a huge fan of theirs at the time and just loved Taylor's lyrical style of playing because it lent itself so well to the Stones rhythmic style...MT's lead prowess is something they needed. He's right about the output of the Stones during his tenure. Sticky Fingers, Exile, Goats Head Soup, It's Only RocknRoll. Just listen to Time Waits for No One.....Fuck! You'll never hear better lead playing than that!! And that's the kind of playing Jones or Wood could never do...or anybody else at the time for that matter!

@@terencehennegan1439 you think so? Taylor is so wildly different, in a stylistic way, from Richards…But the influence and craftsmanship that Taylor brought to the band was amazing!

Ryan Ortega Apart from his brilliant musical ability Jagger got on with Taylor and Richards felt threatened, my guess is Richards dampened his creativity. Mick Taylor had charisma without saying anything and that contributed greatly to the stones popularity. As a lifelong fan of the stones they’ve never been the same without Taylor. These days Jagger looks ridiculous on stage.
@ryanjavierortega85133 жыл бұрын
@@terencehennegan1439 was Taylor’s composure on stage a good counterpoint to Jagger? Jagger said Taylor was a “tall, very pretty thing to stand next to on stage,” which I thought was interesting.

Not just one of the best players in the world he's just a class act & he knows the reason for leaving the Stones & the what the similarities are between Keith & Jack Bruce , it was little drug we know as Heroin . Lucky for them both they managed to have survived what most that play that game don't. Mick knew he had to leave not just to survive the lifestyle the Stones were living but as a player he was capable of more & it wasn't going to come unless he left . He just placed more on his music that fame & fortune & he has had one stellar career & no regrets. Mick continues to play great music & we sure miss Jack Bruce.

Looking at the photos of Mick Taylor, he doesn't look like he's a member of one of the most popular rock-n-roll bands in the world. He just looks like the guy next door that you could hang around with. He could probably just walk into any store, bar, or restaurant and not be noticed. He just seems like an all around down to earth nice guy.

Thanks for sharing. Mick Taylor deserves his own place in the quirky ass R&R HOF and ranking as one of the top rock lead and blues guitarists of all time. I love the Stones and the Glimmer Twins, but know in my gut that MT got ripped by the Stones machine. Jagger and Richards should give MT 10+% royalties and or at least what other "official" band members got during his tenure. Really more bc MT was the most creative member behind Jagger and Richards. RIP Mr. Watts.

Too bad Mick Taylor didn't have the emotional intelligence to handle being with the Stones. He bailed out just before the Stones really started to earn the big bucks. According to Celebrity net worth Mick Taylor is only worth $300.00. He has to resort to playing small venues and pitching Weight Watchers just to scrape by. Mick says the Stones took a hot steaming shit on him over royalties during his tenure with the group.. like all malcontents, he's crying the blues.

Tom. Who cares how much Mick T. is worth money wise or what venues he choose to play in. He will always be known for the fantastic guitar player he is & there is nothing the Stones could have done to change the fact he needed to get out. Your statement about his lack of emotional intelligence is so stupid it shows you know nothing of his real reasons for leaving & you obviously don't play music yourself or that statement would have never come out. Bottom line is he's had a stellar career & the respect of anyone who plays & those that don't. A malcontent he most assuredly is not. One of the best players in the world he is.
