Mickey is one of the great LIVE and session musicians in the business. Talented, underrated drummer, humble, incredibly funny sense of humor. A great person all the way around. I always tell young drummers that I meet. " Listen, really listen, and study Mickey Curry with Bryan, Hall & Oates, Roy Orbison, Los Lobos... Rock solid, straight shooter.

I'm a guitarist, but you gotta love Mickey. Always nice to hear him talk, because he's such a nice, down-to-Earth guy, and he has some good insights on the recording of those classic albums.

Awesome stuff, Jeremy! I totally need out to this stuff, too, and it just so happens that Van Halen, Bryan Adams, Mutt Lange, Def Leppard, Bob Rock, Sting and the Police are my favorite musical topics, and I know they’re yours too, so I look forward to your geek sessions!! Keep them coming!!! Watched your Phil interview today, too..

In 1987, I started working for a company here in CT a year or so out of high school. After being there a while, a woman from the accounting department came up to me and said, "Hey, Jon, I hear you really like Hall and Oates." I said, "Yeah, my favorite group." She said, "Well, guess what? Their drummer Mickey Curry's parents are my neighbors. Mickey grew up next to me." I was floored. She came in a couple weeks later with an autograph to me from Mickey. I've been picking up pieces of my mind to this day. ;))

I LOVE Mickey's snare drum sound, not just on 'Into the Fire' (criminally underrated album!) but on 'Reckless' too. I had long wondered how he got it. Thanks for answering my question, Jeremy!

What a drummer: 38 years since MC 1st played w/Hall + Oates. Cher, who was received at the Kennedy Honors this year, Alice Cooper. This Friday will be #30years since the release of Everything I Do I Do It for You. MC was great! + 30 years since MC played w/The Cult. Meanwhile also in 1991, Mutt still had the time to send Eddie Money + Huey Lewis music. + HL added his ideas to write It Hit Me Like a Hammer! Also, MC worked with David Foster. 🇨🇦 Reminds me: DF in the making of Tears Are Not Enough. Play a part as dictated by the producer. As for a drummer, 1 or 2 takes. Done! 😎 Mutt really puts musicians who never worked with them to school. BA was right in the early interview with Jeremy! Thanks, Mitch + Jeremy! 😎😎 🇨🇦

I see or hear to many interviewers who appear as if they did not graduate from high school. Too many puffball questions. Hardly any questions about the performance, motivation about the song. No questions about the gear, songwriters, engineers or producers.😖 Mitch + Jeremy put them to shame! 😃 And Jeremy. Your experience with gear + the fact you are a working musician simply makes you 1 of the better interviewers. 😎 Well wishes on the Jeremy White album! 😃 Guys, when you interview BA again, will you ask him how was it working with Jeff Lynne, David Foster, Bob Rock + the late Bruce Fairbairn? Thanks! 😎

What a horrible interview. Absolutely no respect for the person being interviewed - he clearly told you he’s on downtime but still pestering him about what he’s doing. Then kept interrupting the poor guy before he could finish answering and also making assumptions rather than asking the person who’s right there. So many questions could have been asked about the Waking Up… recording. What a waste. 😠

These guys are generally ok but it can get annoying when an interviewer(s) gets out of control. Howard Stern is the worst offender. It's important to ask a question and then let the person talk. That's who we are here for.
