This album getting me emotional fr😢, about how this man Mickey and a few others are really keeping MF DOOM’s legacy alive and running with that same energy. This is an incredible piece of work and he’s setting the bar with execution of concepts. The immersion you get in this colorful cartoon world imagining all these lyrics play out is awesome. Real Saturday morning vibes. This the first project from Mickey that really clicked with me cuz his voice put me off in past but it literally just clicked. I’m going back and listening and dude is really top tier with the bars and beats and production value. This is an ATOY contender for sure and I can see it getting spun long into the future. Speaking of concept albums, B-side you GOTTA review spook and Sadhugolds new joint bell on wheels. It’s a western blaxploitation type joint, and he sticks with the concept for literally every bar, even more thoroughly than Mickey on this joint. It’s a masterpiece in my opinion and I know you’d have a lot of fun wit it. It’s VIVA LA HIP HOP right now!

Been listening to Mick for a minute, dude has never missed on a single release. I’ve listened to every single project he’s dropped and have not been disappointed once. You just don’t see that consistency anywhere in rap, so to see it with an underground legend is just mind boggling.

I have never listened to Mickey Diamond but thanks for this recommendation. This is hands down the AOTY. The track list is consistent, the production is great and the rapping was top notch. I love that fact this album is heavy inspired by MM…. FOOD(which is my personal favourite DOOM album) and takes a more grimy approach to it.

Big ole facts! I think he next up tho. I ain’t wanna hit these guys with strays in the vid but certainly better than guys like Flee Lord, Estee Nack, Eto, Daniel Son, etc who have bigger followings. And not disrespecting them - they talented, but I think Mickey a decent level above them.

No diss but if you did this one I wonder why you didn’t do the Mickey Diamond x Sadhugold album Death Threats or the Big Ghost jawn he did. I know you don’t review every album you listen to but I was pleasantly surprised to see this video. Also question did you ever listen to Spook projects? He’s Sadhugold’s “artist” and he has some incredible albums imo. Most recently No Country II: The Ballad of Isom Dart. It’s a spaghetti western concept album that should be in the conversation for aoty.

I know it’s been a minute since it dropped but a reaction for the Boldy and Craven project would be sick
@BSideRapReviews7 ай бұрын
Not ruling it out but will say I have heard it. Now i don’t mind reacting to albums I already heard, but I don’t have this one that high on my priority list cus I don’t think it was that great. After 2 albums, I’m almost at the point where I don’t think Boldy and Craven are a good pairing. I love Boldy but his monotone, sleepy flow gets tedious when it’s paired with craven very simplistic production style. I like craven, but his style is basically just taking a sample, and looping it without any alteration. And that style can work (like it did on fair exchange no robbery) but the execution/sample selection gotta be extremely good or the rapping gotta be extremely good and that wasn’t the case for either of those. The album def picked up after the first few tracks, but man the album started out slow af. I loved when Boldy rapped about the accident, but other than that, it was just average Boldy…not bad, but not great…but that wasn’t enuff to carry

🔥🔥 B Side Season is here! You heard that Boldy James x Nicholas Craven? New Gangrene album on the 19th!!! Need that reaction bro!
@BSideRapReviews7 ай бұрын
My guy!! Preciate the love dawg! Yeah I have - I still might review it, but I will say I’m not nearly as high as a lot of folks are on it. I personally don’t think Boldy and craven are the best pairing after hearing it. Boldy is one of my fav rappers but he has a very monotone, nocturnal flow. Now when he’s at his absolute best, it doesn’t matter, but generally, he’s at his best when rapping over explosive; dynamic beats (ie his joints with Alchemist and manger on McNichols). Craven is the complete opposite. His beats are pretty nocturnal as well. They’re very simplistic, which he can pull off, but I thought his sample selection was very spotty on that joint. Overall I don’t think the album is fire, but I think the both guys are better individually than they are as a duo And oh shoot I ain’t know that. You know I love Al, and I haven’t reviewed him but ima fan of oh no as well. I got his joint with Elzhi as a top 3 album of last year. Looking forward to that joint

Need that Nack x Futurewave review
@BSideRapReviews7 ай бұрын
Idk if ima get to the review, but I’ll sum it up with the caveat that I haven’t done a deep dive with it like I do with most albums on the channel. But that said, futurewave is insane…the production was phenomenal. Nack isn’t bad, and there’s a certain type of appeal to his flow and delivery…but most the album I was just thinking “dang I wish a better rapper was rapping on these beats”. The best verses by far imo were the guest joints. Nacks flow is unique but there ain’t a ton of substance. He ain’t the best lyricist, his punches are hit or miss, and he just rambles at points. I still think it’s a good album tho and better than nacksaw jim Duggan. I’ll really sit with it again tho and see if my opinion changes
