Im thinking of the animatronics on frozen ever after and i haven't been there but through a screen but I can't say I hate the screen faces. I don't understand why no one came over the speaker during this. I dont understand what the hype of this ride is. They tried so credit for that. They thought 200 projections were a good idea? I don't think I'll go on this if i go back to this park.

Don't forget that these are high tech machines with tons of technology. A slight hiccup can make the system go into safety mode, shutting down everything. A sensitive senor in the floor, a critical pc software running into an error, a cart being out of line just a tiny bit, ...

This ride is very interesting to me. Whenever you break down, the lights go on immediately and you know you’re gonna have an in-show exit. This is not the case for most rides. Rides like Space Mountain and Big Thunder will come to a stop before the lights come on.

Got evacuated off of this ride about a week ago... We were not allowed to record but we got a little tour of the rooms we had already gone through, where the cast members showed us some of the hidden mickeys, the b plot of the ride and a few other hidden secret things ahah. Super quick and kind, and the short 'tour' made the experience so worth while and memorable!! The memory will certainly stay with me forever :D

I encountered one abrupt halting of this attraction recently (3/24/23). The ride came to a halt because apparently an object from one of the riders fell out of the car and onto the floor. The car likely ran it over and it caused a malfunction, thus the ride stopped just like this. We had to evacuate and fortunately the attendant gave us a rain check on riding it again sometime the next day. It took about an hour and a half until we were notified via the Disneyland app that we can board again.

Most trackless rides break down like this because something gets caught on the wires in the floor. These are automated guide vehicles and there are sensors on the bottom of the vehicle that follows the wire. Something on the wire disrupts this so they have to stop the ride.

The new one used in there rides is based on LPS (like gps but for a small area), RFID, and uses wifi to connect to a master computer that controls all of the ride vehicles. This allows for each vehicle to not only move anywhere, but also to change paths if need be

The bummer on this is since there's no track probably all it takes is someone's hat or or Mickey ears or some other object to get dropped out of a car onto the floor to e-stop the ride. And since there are wind effects, that's going to happen. I'm curious if they ask people to take off hats.

The trackless rides go down all the time. It's a safety thing. If the ride system senses ANY abnormality, it will immediately shut down the ride to prevent collisions between vehicles, ensure guest safety, and avoid damage to the ride systems. Ride shutdowns are usually caused by foreign articles, such as hats or sunglasses, that fall on the floor in the path of the ride vehicles. They can also be caused by loss of wireless communication between the ride vehicles and the ride system computer or a malfunctioning show element such as a moving prop or projection. These new trackless ride systems are highly complex, and if all aspects are not running within tolerances, the system will e-stop the ride.

When I first heard about this ride, I thought it was going to be some kind of roller coaster. Kind of disappointed that it’s this trackless, slow-moving weirdness through glitchy computer animations and whatnot. Seems very underwhelming. If this is where amusement park rides are headed, it’s not looking that great!

Not all of the parts are slow moving, and reminder, they JUST opened this ride, so of course it’s gonna be glitched. Plus the one in Disney world that opened a while ago is working fine! Almost nothing is as bad as Rocket Rods lol. Rocket rods wasn't closed because it kept breaking down. It was because it was destroying the foundation of the track. The original track was built for people mover which had barely any lateral forces. Rocket rods cars were heavy, accelerated fast and stop fast causing tons of lateral stress on the foundation and support that the track was actually falling apart. It wasn't fixable unless they redid the entire ride. Besides this ride exist in Florida and has been running for a while. It's issue will be easy to iron out.

The animatronics for this ride are awesome and they should’ve used more so you feel immersed. You gotta deal with it as this ride will be in every version of disney being florida, california, paris, shang hi, and tokyo. Forgot to mention is that technology is getting more advanced and even though this ride relies on projections it still had lots of effort put being programming the robots, painting the sets to make you feel in the cartoon world, and programming the trackless carts to get it right. I get that this ride was heavily advertised like rise of the resistance it still is popular and if you hate it then you hate it but that doesn’t mean you have to say it’s a waste of space time and it needs more robots, heck rise barley had any robots this has more than it, as rise relies on projections way more than this. I think i know you just hate this ride for it being mostly for kids even if rise is also for it you won’t hate it but for runaway yes, here’s a little info on why this ride was built. first they had no other plans for the space second it would fit the theme for toontown and third hollywoods was a test to see how well it would do and it was high on the most rode rides in the park meaning it was successful so they decided to plan to add it to every disney park around the world except for the other 3 in florida. so you need to handle that this ride is loved heavily and could possibly outtake rise sooner in the future. so just know this that disney won’t care about your bad saying on runaway as runaway is becoming more popular than rise and it’s going to be there for a very long time as it’s the one ride that has the main 6 characters of the company so it’s a main ride and rise will be replaced in 20, 30, or 40 years from now so just chill about this ride and try going on it maybe you’ll like it and you will see how it has effort put into it.
