I watched a previous video you made for maintenance that focused primarily for cleaning the two base types. It was incredibly helpful. This one is even more informative for maintaining the hair itself. I wear a curly style. The unit can last several months if you treat it with care and like money matters. I use a quality, gentle shampoo and conditioner made specifically for curly hair. I also use a detangling conditioner to detangle the unit BEFORE I shampoo it to gently comb it out. Typically, I fine mist it with distilled water daily and apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner to finger comb it daily to refresh the style. It looks amazing. I've been wearing units since June 2022. I wear tape only, and when done correctly, the hold is incredible. I work out 5 times a week. For my oily head, it lasts securely for 2 weeks, but I make it last 3. It takes me about 4-5 hours to remove, clean, and shampoo/condition the unit, and then clean my scalp, shampoo/condition, and cut my hair, and then finally reaapply the tape. I usually do it in 2 steps; one night and then the next day. It's work, but it's worth it. I'm thankful to be able to have the hair/hairstyle I want.

@xplorercolorado9224 Yes, I live in the gym. I walk in the heat of the summer outdoors. And, I'm oily, particularly my face and scalp. I use tape instead of the glue as well.

Love your content Micky. I’m an engineer, and couldn’t help but use that part of my brain to think about a solution. What if the units were 2 stage systems. Where a disposable base stage was glued to the head, and the hair stage was fixed to the base by some other means to protect it from the glue. I’m imagining like a form of Velcro (obviously engineered somehow to make it as flat as possible). I’m just having a thought exercise for fun myself tbh but I’d love to hear feedback from people familiar with the units on how feasible that idea would actually be. Thanks!
@sarirorsa6 ай бұрын
Your idea of a two-stage system for hair units is intriguing and could indeed offer a practical solution. The concept of a disposable base stage that adheres to the head, combined with a separate hair stage attached via a flat, engineered Velcro-like material, is quite innovative. This approach could potentially minimize the direct exposure of hair to adhesive, making the system more comfortable and possibly extending the lifespan of the hair units.
@sarirorsa6 ай бұрын
You may consider specific materials and technologies for the two-stage hair unit system: Base Stage: Material: Medical-grade silicone or polyurethane film (flexible, breathable, hypoallergenic). Adhesive: Skin-safe adhesive like hydrocolloid or silicone adhesive (gentle, non-irritating). Breathability: Micro-perforations for enhanced airflow. Attachment Mechanism: Micro-Velcro: Advanced, low-profile hook-and-loop fasteners (e.g., 3M ultra-thin fasteners). Magnetic Nano-Sheets: Thin, strong magnetic sheets for seamless attachment. Hair Stage: Material: High-quality synthetic hair fibers (e.g., Kanekalon) or human hair. Attachment Surface: Compatible surface for micro-Velcro or magnetic nano-sheets. Additional Features: Antimicrobial Properties: Silver nanoparticles or antimicrobial coatings to prevent bacterial growth.

Mickey what advice do have for hair pull-through. I have a friend who says alot of the hairs get pulled through from the opposite side and do you cut them off or just lay them flat and keep it pushing?
@MickeyDaBarber Жыл бұрын
If it’s not a lot of hair I would cut them off so it can stick better …if it a lot of hair coming thru the lace then I would be a little cautious of the hair thinning out on the top

Hey Mickey 😉 I think it’s great that people who have an issue with any type of baldness that there is a better option than that hair plug crap 🙄 I can’t stand it but come on now you gotta maintain it. Not knowing how long the person wore the unit you clearly see how each were maintained. That curly one woulda tested my gangsta fo sho. Suggestion…instead of the wig styrofoam head, you should get one of those beauty school heads. You can use both hands while styling a unit. You can pin the unit down too.
@MickeyDaBarber Жыл бұрын
I can pin it in the foam head too and I do have a professional styling head I just prep my units in this cuz it better for me …remember when I make these videos they are for what I personally feel is better for me ..thank you for your advice ❤

@Mickey Da Barber. Thank you for the lessons but sister, name one Palestinian, Arab, Asian, East Asian, Latino, Dominican or African. They do not March with us or for us “African Americans.” Name one time in history where any other human ethnicity’s stood up for us. Arabs still enslave African to this day. I employ Sudanese kinfolk all the time and they have told us some crazy, crazy stories about escaping from the clutches of africans and despicable Arabs. All they do is fight over there. Black folks. We need to focus on us and our brilliant creativity as you demonstrate making a way out of no way. Respectfully submitted.
