I just bought one too for my first tank! It says to put the top part 1cm below the water line but the one in the video appears to be above, should I raise mine a little?

You can place it anywhere really. I wish I bought 2 of these for my 4ft tank instead of a canister sometimes. Much easier maintenance.

I love using the Eheim Pros XL on my big tank. They have so much capacity for media. You do loose flow rate compared to Fx6 but filtration size they’re the best around

Had an aqua one filter, had to clean it out every 2 weeks, massive pile of garbage and then started leaking from where the black wire goes in, probably a seal, got a fluval 407 - pricey but does the job and only cleaned it out once

Flow is restricted the more media in it so of course internal look good as they just have sponges

No mate but you could modify it by cutting the sponge in half and then adding ceramic rings with filter wool 👍🏻

How ya Doing Mick love the Oscars they’re lucky to have that big tank pretty much to themselves what size is it thinking of upgrading I have a 4 foot was thinking of getting a 6 foot by 2‘ x 2‘ it looks like the sort of size I was thinking mate ⚒😳⚒The little filter you just put on has that higher flow because it’s fresh once its been running for a while that will drop right down but still nice👍 I Thoughts EHEIM were pricey

It’s a great mechanical filter for clearing water fast 👍🏻 but I would run it along with a filter full of bio media in it 👍🏻

I've got the Eheim pickup 160 and whilst it's decent enough it isn't great. I saw bits of detritus float past the intake. Changed it for the Fluval U3 and I can honestly say the Fluval is far superior. If your tank isn't highly stocked I'd say the eheim pickup is good enough, if it is highly stocked, you're better off with the Fluval U series.

Any filter which has sponges will do the same,as u pick it up u squeeze it so muck comes out. Ehiem is pricey and no longer quality made, older stuff is OK but new stuff is cheaper materials and you can easily tell when u compare old vs new

Hey brother are you not in the glass business, why not change out your glass window with a special order tint, or smoke color, I did this on my front door glass to cut down on heat coming thru it. I am just putting this out there. Thank You 😊.

@@joe51261 I do understand that, but it is not a good idea to have a insulated glass tinted for that doesn't allow the unit to cool down from the heat building up in the unit and eventually the unit will explode on you and guess what you are going to replace it with a new glass. Not trying to be smart but. I have seen and replaced quite a few unit because the home owner wanted tinted windows.

Don’t recommend eheim new series of heaters I bought 3 400w heaters n we’re all dead within 12 months. This looks like nice powerful heater
